Slide fastener and method of producing waterproof chain

A slide fastener includes a pair of waterproof stringers comprising a pair of woven and/or knitted fastener tapes, a pair of coil elements respectively secured to opposing side-edge portions of the pair of fastener tapes, and waterproof films respectively overlaid via adhesives on tape top surfaces of the fastener tapes of the pair of fastener tapes, and a slider that moves forward to engage the pair of coil elements and moves rearward to disengage the pair of coil elements. Each of the waterproof films has a film edge positioned over a space between the opposing side-edge portions of the pair of fastener tapes, the film edge supported by a supporting portion made of the adhesive solidified, the supporting portion partially occupying the space between the opposing side-edge portions of the pair of fastener tapes, and the supporting portion having a thickness greater than a thickness of the film edge.

This fabric fastener tape for a slide fastener is provided with an element mounting section and a tape main body section. The tape main body section is provided with a mesh section. The mesh section has a mesh structure having a framework formed by sets of warp yarns and weft yarns, and the mesh structure has openings formed among the sets of warp yarns and weft yarns. In the mesh section, the weave density of the outermost warp yarn and the outermost weft yarn of each of the sets of warp yarns and weft yarns is higher than the weave density of the warp and weft yarns which are on the inner side of the outermost warp and weft yarns. In the mesh structure of this fastener tape, mesh displacement can be prevented without thermally bonding the crossover points between the warp and weft yarns.

A warp-knitted tape, having a longitudinal direction, a left hand and a right hand sides parallel and opposite to each other and perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and a plurality of wales extending parallel to each other along the longitudinal direction, is provided. The tape is made of a plurality of first, second and third yarns lapped according to specific knitting/lapping patterns.

Fastener stringer and method for manufacturing fastener stringer

A fastener stringer for a concealed slide fastener in which a knitted fastener tape has a tape main body portion and a doubled-tape portion that is formed by extending in a width direction from the tape main body portion and being folded back, wherein at least a chain stitch yarn is included in each wale forming the tape main body portion, and wales forming the doubled-tape portion have at least one wide wale having a second wale width that is greater than the first wale width of the wale forming the tape main body portion. The doubled-tape portion of the fastener tape can thereby be provided with superior flexibility.
