An article-storage simulation device includes an acquisition unit that acquires a size of each of the plurality of articles and a size of the storage container. A simulator determines the number of storage containers to be used for storing the articles and a number of articles to be stored by calculation. The calculation uses the acquired size of the articles and the acquired size of the container. The simulator (i) places the article in the container, (ii) determines whether a next article can be placed in the container after the article is placed, and (iii) in a case where the simulator determines that the next article can be placed, places the next article in the container after the article is placed and in a case where the simulator determines that the next article cannot be placed, adds a next container to be used for storing the next article.
Neighboring panel view
A neighboring panel view is leveraged in a digital medium environment. Initially, a view generation system receives a selection of panels of a three-dimensional (3D) assembled representation of an object, such as to apply digital graphics to the 3D assembled representation. The view generation system also receives a selection of an option to display a neighboring panel view, which is a two-dimensional (2D) flattened view local to the selection. In particular, the neighboring panel view displays an arrangement of the selected panels of the object and their neighboring panels. The view generation system arranges the selected panels in this arrangement as those panels are arranged in the 3D assembled representation. The view generation system also arranges the neighboring panels in the neighboring panel view adjacent to the selected panels with which they are adjacent on the object.
Methods and systems for detecting errors in kit assembly
Methods and systems for packaging a product offering of product items associated with a merchant account. A product packaging model is associated with a kit of product items having a selected packaging option. During assembly, one or more images of the kit are captured and image features are detected and compared to parameters specified in the product packaging model. An error notification is output if a deviation is detected between the detected image features and the parameters prescribed by the product packaging model.
Reinforced shipping container
A reinforced shipping container along with method for generating the reinforced shipping container are described herein. A digital model of the shipping container is received and simulated with an expected load. The expected load may represent an expected loading scenario for the shipping container during shipment. A reinforcement profile is determined based on stress data developed from the simulation to increase a strength-to-weight ratio of the shipping container. The reinforcement profile is used to apply a reinforcing agent to a substrate used to form the shipping container in a selective manner to reinforce regions of the shipping container that will experience stresses during shipping.

An example package gate can include an insert portion that is insertable into a designated portion of a device package, and a gate portion to: expose an aperture in a first state to allow access to the device when the insert portion is inserted into the designated portion of the device package, and seal the aperture in a second state to prevent access to the device when the insert portion is inserted into the designated portion of the device package.

Three-dimensional (3D) modeling systems and methods are described for automatically generating photorealistic, virtual 3D package and product models from 3D and two-dimensional (2D) imaging assets. The 3D modeling systems and methods include loading, into a memory with one or more processors, computer-aided design (CAD) component(s) and assembling, with an automatic imaging asset assembly script, the CAD component(s) to create a parametric-based CAD model. A polygonal model of a real-world product or product package is generated based on the parametric-based CAD model. Digital surface finish artifact(s) of a virtual material library, as selected from the 2D imaging assets, are applied to the polygonal model. A virtual 3D model is generated based on the polygonal model and a UV coordinate mapping corresponding to a virtual product label, and rendered, via a graphical display, as a photorealistic image representing the real-world product or product package.
