20200288768 · 2020-09-17 ·

It is the object of the present invention to reduce the amount of labor that is required for distal closure of a cigarette or joint by providing a device and related method for folding and dimpling the distal tip of a joint through single actuation.

MENTHOL CIGARETTE

Cigarettes are provided which contain a filtering system and flavorants encapsulated with polyvinyl acetate, wherein deactivation of a sorbent by the flavorant is reduced through the encapsulation of the flavorant within the polyvinyl acetate. A preferred flavorant is menthol. The encapsulated flavorants are prepared by mixing at least one flavorant with polyvinyl acetate and a solvent, such as ethanol, and forming the encapsulated flavorants. Methods of making cigarettes and smoking the articles are also provided.

A capsule for delivery of a flavoring in water-pipe smoke is disclosed herein. The disclosed capsule includes a core bead of an inert material and a coating layer encapsulating the bead. The coating layer contains a flavoring, an absorbent-binder, a mist-maker, a sweetener, a thickener. The coating layer is configured to provide release of the flavoring, sweetener and of the mist-maker when heated.

Method for Applying Register Marks to Wrapping Paper for Smoking Articles
20200187553 · 2020-06-18 ·

The invention relates to a method for marking a wrapping paper for smoking articles, comprising the following steps: (A) providing a wrapping paper for smoking articles, the wrapping paper comprising pulp fibers, and (B) producing markings on the wrapping paper by means of at least one of the following steps: (B.1) removing material from the wrapping paper, (B.2) mechanically changing the wrapping paper, (B.3) treating the surface of the wrapping paper with laser radiation having an energy density y in J-m.sup.2, to which the following applies: y=kx. x is the enthalpy of combustion per volume of the wrapping paper in J-m.sup.2 m-1, and k is at least 8 m, preferably at least 7 m and especially preferably at least 6 m, and at most 1 m, preferably at most 2 m and especially preferably at most 2.5 m. Either repeating structures are produced on the wrapping paper in a step (C) such that each structure is at a fixed distance in the machine direction relative to at least one marking, or in step (A) a wrapping paper is provided which has repeating structures in the machine direction, and the markings are produced on the wrapping paper in step (B) in such a way that each marking is at a fixed distance in the machine direction relative to at least one structure.

Disclosed are systems and methods for automatic infusion of concentrate and distillate material into cigarettes or other containers. In one embodiment, a thermally-controlled infusion system is provided. The system can maintain a selected temperature of the concentrate material throughout the infusion process, using a two-stage approach. In a first stage, the concentrate material is pressure-fed to a dosing chamber. In the second stage, the concentrate material is pumped into an insertion cannula and into a cigarette or container. A revolver houses the cigarettes or containers and vertically transitions them to an insertion position, where the insertion cannula can infuse the cigarettes or containers.

Electrically Conductive Consumable

A consumable for an aerosol generating device includes a heating layer of an aerosol substrate formed to be positioned in sandwich between two electrodes of the device. The heating layer of aerosol substrate includes flavorant material and an aerosol forming agent. The layer further includes electrically conductive material in particulate form embedded in the layer, wherein the electrically conductive material is arranged in the heating layer to conduct electrical current between the two electrodes and to heat the aerosol substrate to a temperature sufficient to aerosolize the aerosol forming agent. A method for manufacturing such a consumable, a device for delivering a tobacco aerosol including the consumable, and a method for production of tobacco aerosol with the device are also provided.

Flavour stick

An insert comprising a substrate and a flavoring agent, wherein the flavoring agent is present in an amount from 50 to 500 mg per cm.sup.3 volume of the substrate. The insert is used for introducing a flavor, or increasing the level of flavor applied, to one or more smoking articles in a package of smoking articles, by enclosing the insert within such a package.
