Smoking article with colour shifting marking
Smoking articles include a colour shifting marking. The marking may be provided on a wrapper, such as a plug wrap, a smokable material wrap, or a tipping paper wrap. The marking may be produced by a gonichromatic pigment to provide a smooth transition between colours as viewing angles change. The marking may allow a consumer to identify the smoking article as genuine, as opposed to counterfeit.
Immobilized additive inserts
Delivery of additives in a smoking article is provided through thermally degradable, robust immobilized additive inserts. Additives can be immobilized in an elongated device or an insert, wherein the elongated device or the insert is sufficiently robust to allow the elongated device or the insert to be manually or machine inserted into a smoking article while maintaining the structure of the elongated device or the insert. By providing additives in the form of thermally degradable immobilized additive inserts, migration and/or loss of the additives in a smoking article prior to smoking can be reduced.

SMOKING ARTICLE INCLUDING NOVEL FLAVORING AGENT
The present disclosure relates to a smoking article including a novel flavoring agent, and more particularly, to a smoking article including a flavoring agent that is a novel compound which includes a flavoring compound-derived moiety in a basic skeleton, and in which a lactone compound, a sugar compound, and a flavoring compound are decomposed during thermal decomposition.
DEVICE FOR ACTIVE HUMIDIFICATION AND FLAVOURING, SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING SAME
An analysis and/or treatment device (100) for at least one smoking article (60). comprising a closable receptacle (4) for receiving the at least one smoking article (60) therein; a reservoir (62) for a fluid treatment material (8, 9); a hollow injection needle. (2) interiorly insertable into the smoking article (60) received in the receptacle (4) and operably connected to the reservoir (62); means (3) for moving the treatment material (9) from the reservoir (62) through the needle (2) into the interior of the smoking article (60); and at least one sensor means (15) provided in the receptacle (4) for detecting at least one parameter characterizing a property of the smoking article (60) and/or characterizing the treatment conditions in the receptacle (4). A method for applying a treatment to a smoking article (60), wherein the smoking article (60) is enclosed by a receptacle (4), and a treatment material (8,9) is inserted into the receptacle (4) and directly into the interior of the smoking article (60) as a function of parameters measured by sensor means (1), said parameters being indicative of at least one of the temperature and the humidity in the receptacle (4) and the smoking article (60).
HOPPER FOR ROD-SHAPED ARTICLES AND METHOD FOR REMOVING ROD-SHAPED ARTICLES FROM A HOPPER
A hopper for rod-shaped articles having a longitudinal axis is provided, the hopper including: a plurality of guiding vanes defining adjacent guiding channels in between the guiding vanes, the adjacent guiding channels being configured to provide for guiding rod-shaped articles through the hopper in a transport direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the articles, the adjacent guiding channels including substantially vertical inner walls formed by the guiding vanes and being open along at least a front side such that articles may extend out of the adjacent guiding channels and beyond guiding vane front surfaces; and a deflector arranged at a front surface of at least one guiding vane, the deflector being configured to remove a rod-shaped article from the hopper, the rod-shaped article extending across the front surface of the at least one guiding vane.

AUTOMATED DEPOSITION OF HIGHLY VISCOUS FLUIDS INTO THIN-WALLED CYLINDERS
Disclosed are systems and methods for automatic infusion of concentrate and distillate material into cigarettes or other containers. In one embodiment, a thermally-controlled infusion system is provided. The system can maintain a selected temperature of the concentrate material throughout the infusion process, using a two-stage approach. In a first stage, the concentrate material is pressure-fed to a dosing chamber. In the second stage, the concentrate material is pumped into an insertion canula and into a cigarette or container. A revolver houses the cigarettes or containers and vertically transitions them to an insertion position, where the insertion canula can infuse the cigarettes or containers.
TOBACCO RELATED PRODUCT CONTAINING DISTINGUISHABLE TOBACCO RELATED ELEMENTS AND METHODS
The invention relates to a tobacco related product comprising standard tobacco related fibers, elements and/or particles and further additional tobacco related elements configured to detectably distinguish from standard tobacco related fibers, elements and/or particles and methods of manufacturing and authenticating such a tobacco related product.
