Write data for bin resynchronization after power loss
A system includes a memory device and a processing device, operatively coupled to the memory device, the processing device to perform operations comprising: measuring one of a temperature voltage shift or a read bit error rate of fixed data stored in the memory device in response to detecting a power on of the memory device, the fixed data having been programmed in response to detecting a power loss; estimating an amount of time for which the memory device was powered off based on results of the measuring; and in response to the amount of time satisfying a threshold criterion, updating a value for a temporal voltage shift of a block family based on the amount of time.
Input/output patterns and data pre-fetch
Systems and methods for determining an access pattern in a computing system. Accesses to a file may contain random accesses and sequential accesses. The file may be divided into multiple regions and the accesses to each region are tracked. The access pattern for each region can then be determined independently of the access patterns of other regions of the file.
Low-latency direct cloud access with file system hierarchies and semantics
Techniques described herein relate to systems and methods of data storage, and more particularly to providing layering of file system functionality on an object interface. In certain embodiments, file system functionality may be layered on cloud object interfaces to provide cloud-based storage while allowing for functionality expected from a legacy applications. For instance, POSIX interfaces and semantics may be layered on cloud-based storage, while providing access to data in a manner consistent with file-based access with data organization in name hierarchies. Various embodiments also may provide for memory mapping of data so that memory map changes are reflected in persistent storage while ensuring consistency between memory map changes and writes. For example, by transforming a ZFS file system disk-based storage into ZFS cloud-based storage, the ZFS file system gains the elastic nature of cloud storage.
Time clock quality determination
In some examples, an electronic device records, in an entry of a time-state data structure that includes a plurality of entries to store respective times, a time in response to invocation of a time-lapse process that lasts a predefined time duration independently of a time clock of the electronic device. The electronic device determines whether times in successive entries of the plurality of entries of the time-state data structure are within a threshold of one another, the threshold based on the predefined time duration. Based on the determining, the electronic device sets a parameter representing a quality of the time clock.
Identifying anomolous device usage based on usage patterns
A computer-implemented method to identify unauthorized use of a device based on a usage pattern. The method includes tracking usage of a device, wherein the usage includes activity by a user interacting with the device. The method includes identifying a usage pattern, wherein the usage pattern is based on usage data. The method further includes generating, based on the usage pattern, a heatmap. The method includes predicting future usage of the device by the user, wherein the predicting includes generating a Markov chain of the predicted future usage. The method also includes determining actual usage is different than the predicted usage. The method further includes calculating, in response to determining the actual usage is different than the predicted future usage, a difference score. The method includes determining the difference score is above a difference threshold, and activating, in response to the difference score being above the difference threshold, an alert.
Mathematical models of graphical user interfaces
A graph model of a graphical user interface (GUI) may be generated by processing usage data of the GUI where the usage data comprises sequences of GUI pages and actions between GUI pages. The nodes of the graph model may be determined by obtaining GUI pages from the usage data, identifying dynamic GUI elements in the GUI pages, generating canonical GUI pages by modifying the GUI pages using the dynamic GUI elements, and creating graph nodes using the canonical GUI pages. The edges of the graph may be determined by processing actions from the GUI data that were performed by users to transition from one GUI page to another GUI page. The graph model of the GUI may be used for any appropriate application, such as determining statistics relating to the GUI or statistics relating to individual users of the GUI.
Scaling delta table optimize command
The interface is to receive an indication to execute an optimize command. The processor is to receive a file name; determine whether adding a file of the file name to a current bin causes the current bin to exceed a threshold; associate the file with the current bin in response to determining that adding the file does not cause the current bin to exceed the bin threshold; in response to determining that adding the file to the current bin causes the current bin to exceed the bin threshold: associate the file with a next bin, indicate that the current bin is closed, and add the current bin to a batch of bins; determine whether a measure of the batch of bins exceeds a batch threshold; and in response to determining that the measure exceeds the batch threshold, provide the batch of bins for processing.
Representing result data streams based on execution of data stream language programs
An instrumentation analysis system processes data streams by executing instructions specified using a data stream language program. The data stream language allows users to specify a search condition using a find block for identifying the set of data streams processed by the data stream language program. The set of identified data streams may change dynamically. The data stream language allows users to group data streams into sets of data streams based on distinct values of one or more metadata attributes associated with the input data streams. The data stream language allows users to specify a threshold block for determining whether data values of input data streams are outside boundaries specified using low/high thresholds. The elements of the set of data streams input to the threshold block can dynamically change. The low/high threshold values can be specified as data streams and can dynamically change.
Minimizing power loss and reset time with media controller suspend
A processing device in a memory sub-system detects a preemptive power loss condition in the memory sub-system and, in response, causes operations of a local media controller associated with a memory device in the memory sub-system to be suspended, wherein responsive to being suspended, the local media controller to perform power loss handling operations to complete a subset of a plurality of pending memory access operations, and wherein to perform the power loss handling operations, the local media controller to complete the subset of the plurality of pending memory access operations for which an acknowledgment signal has been sent to a requestor. The processing device further detects a full power loss and restore condition in the memory sub-system, responsive to detecting the full power loss and restore condition, initializes the memory device and causes operations of the local media controller to resume.
Enhanced application performance framework
This document describes a framework for measuring and improving the performance of applications, such as distributed applications and web applications. In one aspect, a method includes performing a test on an application. The test includes executing the application on one or more computers and, while executing the application, simulating a set of workload scenarios for which performance of the application is measured during the test. While performing the test, a set of performance metrics that indicate performance of individual components involved in executing the application during the test is obtained. A knowledge graph is queried using the set of performance metrics. The knowledge graph links the individual components to corresponding performance metrics and defines a set of hotspot conditions that are each based on one or more of the corresponding performance metrics for the individual components. A given hotspot condition is detected based on the set of performance metrics.
