Idea assessment and landscape mapping
Embodiments of the present invention include systems and methods for systematically evaluating idea quality in accordance with specified rules. In addition, such assessments may also be used to initiate workflows for improving the quality of a given idea. Some embodiments may provide for assessment of the novelty of idea in real-time (e.g., during an innovation or ideation session). Such initial assessments may further be updated in real-time as the idea is discussed further. Such assessment may rely on voice-activated and intelligence-driven searching of various data sources to identify the context of the idea so as to provide an objective basis for the assessment.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PATENT AND PRIOR ART ANALYSIS
Various embodiments of the present disclosure include systems and methods for analyzing patents and prior art in a patent management system. In an example embodiment, a computer-implemented method of determining a potential point of novelty for an identified patent comprises retrieving at least one independent claim of the patent in the claim form as issued; retrieving at least one independent claim of the patent in the claim form as published; and automatically comparing the issued claim to the published claim by identifying unique keywords present in the issued claim but not present in the published claim and flagging the unique keywords to a user.
Patent mapping
A system and method for patent mapping are provided. The system comprises a database of patent sets and a database of patents, each patent stored in the database of patents associated with one or more patent sets stored in the database of patent sets; and one or more modules to perform a portion of one or more of the following: receive input identifying a set of keyword source claims associated with a first patent set; automatically extract at least one keyword from the source claims; receive or formulate a search query associated with the first patent set, the search query including the at least one keyword; search the entire first patent set as a function of the search query; generate search results, the search results including one or more patent claims associated with the search query; and map the one or more patent claims to a patent concept.
DOCUMENT ANALYSIS USING MODEL INTERSECTIONS
Systems and methods for document analysis using model intersections are disclosed. Predictive models are built and trained to predict whether a given document is in class with respect to a given model. Each predictive model may be associated with a subcategory of an identified technology. Documents that are determined to be in class by multiple ones of the predictive models may be identified and grouped into subsets. These subsets of documents may be identified as relevant to the technology in question.
Systems, methods and user interfaces in a patent management system
A system and method are provided for automatically proofing the patent specification of a granted patent issued on a patent application. The method comprises the steps of scanning amendments made to the patent application during prosecution; assembling the most recent claims, based on the scanned amendments, to create a test claim set of the claims; comparing the test claim set to the claims of the issued patent as published; and identifying any differences between the compared sets of claims and communicating the differences to a user.
Patent claim mapping
A system and computer implemented method of patent mapping are provided. The method comprises maintaining a database of patent portfolios and a database of patents, each patent stored in the database of patents associated with one or more patent portfolios stored in the database of patent portfolios; maintaining a database of ontologies, the ontologies including one or more patent concepts in defined groups; receiving a search query associated with a first patent portfolio; searching the first portfolio as a function of the search query; generating search results, the search results including one or more patent claims associated with the search query; and mapping the one or more patent claims to a patent concept in a defined group.
IDENTIFYING UTILIZATION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
A computer-implemented method includes determining a set of identigens for each word of patent claim elements to produce sets of identigens and interpreting pairs of adjacent identigens of adjacent sets of identigens to determine a most likely meaning of the claim elements and produce a claim entigen group. The method further includes determining a level of match between the claim entigen group and a comparison matter entigen group. When the level of match between the claim entigen group and the comparison matter entigen group is greater than a threshold level, the method further includes indicating potential utilization of the claim by the comparison matter or potential prior art status of the comparison matter.
Systems and methods to estimate rate of improvement for all technologies
Systems and methods for predicting yearly performance improvement rates for nearly all definable technologies for the first time are provided. In one embodiment, a correspondence of all patents within the U.S. patent system to a set of technology domains is created. From the identified patent sets, the invention may calculate average centrality of the patents in each domain to predict improvement rates, following a patent network-based methodology. Also disclosed is a system to intake a user technology search query and match user intent with the technology domain as well as the corresponding improvement rate.
Intellectual-Property Landscaping Platform
Systems and methods for generation and use of intellectual-property (IP) landscaping platform architectures are disclosed. A landscaping component may be utilized to produce refined clusters of IP assets using user seeded searches in varying areas of interest, such as, for example, target technical fields, targeted publications, targeted products, and/or competitor entity portfolios. The landscaping component may be further utilized to produce an interactive graphical element including a spatial representation of the clusters of IP assets. The interactive graphical element may include various functionalities and/or information associated with the clusters of IP assets. An exposure assessment component may be utilized to assess the level of exposure associated with a targeted entity by analyzing a mapping between IP assets and allocated funds of the targeted entity, generate a score representing the level of exposure, make determinations as to insurance offerings and/or alter rates associated with the insurance offerings.
