Methods, apparatuses, and systems for providing print quality feedback and controlling print quality of machine readable indicia
A printer-verifier system for providing print quality feedback and controlling print quality is provided. The printer-verifier system may include a printing mechanism configured to print a machine-readable indicia on a print media; a verifier device configured to optically scan the machine-readable indicia; and a print quality monitoring device in electronic communication with the printing mechanism and the verifier device.
Animal marking machine
A machine suitable for marking codes on rodent tails is disclosed, for marking both machine-readable and human-readable codes and such codes combined. An embodiment comprises two axes of motion: one aligned with the rodent tail and one perpendicular. Only one axis need move at one time for disclosed codes. One axis is linear motion of a marking head on a gantry. The second axis provides a rolling motion of the rodent tail. Codes include symbol sets consisting of orthogonal straight line segments, including both a reduced alphanumeric symbols set and a vine code with a marked spine. Delete markings and replacement locations are defined for marking error correction. Embodiments include mapping tables from animal codes as marked to animal IDs for use in managing animals in vivaria. The mapping tables also provide error detection.

Image processing apparatus, image processing method, and image processing program
An image acquisition unit acquires first and second radiation images from first and second radiation detectors. A first frequency analysis unit generates a first high-frequency component which is a high-frequency component of the first radiation image, and a second frequency analysis unit generates a second high-frequency component and a second low-frequency component which are a high-frequency component and a low-frequency component of the second radiation image. An addition processing unit performs weighting and addition with respect to the first and second high-frequency components to generate an addition high-frequency component, and a synthesis unit synthesizes the addition high-frequency component and the second low-frequency component to generate a processed image.
Method and system for checking the presence and/or readability of an item of product information
The invention relates to a method for checking the presence and/or readability of an item of product information, in particular an item of packaging content information. An item of product information, in particular packaging content information, is applied to the product, in particular packaging, by using a printing device. A means of identification is applied by using the same printing device; and the product, in particular the packaging, is scanned with a reader in order to ascertain whether the means of identification is present and can be read, the means of identification comprising a barcode and/or a smart code, individual lines of the barcode being aligned parallel to a direction of print application, and the reader comprising an optical reader, in particular a barcode and/or smart-code reader, preferably a barcode and/or smart-code scanner.

METHODS, APPARATUSES, AND SYSTEMS FOR DETECTING PRINTING DEFECTS AND CONTAMINATED COMPONENTS OF A PRINTER
A method for printing defect detection includes processing and analyzing a difference image obtained by comparing an image scanned with a verifier to a reference image. The detected defects are grouped, and the grouping is refined. Confidence level values are then assigned to the refined groups, and analysis is performed to determine if one or more servicing actions should be taken.
