Symbol reading device, symbol reading method, and symbol reading system

A symbol reading device includes a plurality of reading units and a processor. The reading units read symbols on articles conveyed along a conveyance path. The processor is configured to acquire symbol information from a plurality of articles and store the symbol information in association with each of the reading units that read the symbols on respective articles, then identify a reading unit that can be substituted by another reading unit based on the symbol information associated with the reading units. The identified reading unit in then placed into a power saving state.

If the determination unit determines that the wireless tag is defective, the control unit controls the fixing unit to increase an amount of heat applied to the wireless tag such that information cannot be read from the wireless tag.

In one embodiment, the method comprises generating a trusted artifact with a forward immutable continuous integration (CI) implemented as a build pipeline, wherein the artifact comprises updated software comprising payment processing code with an EMV vector kernel for processing of EMV-based card present transactions; and in response to the software update, performing end-to-end testing of EMV card present transactions using code commits from one or more code repositories, wherein the end-to-end testing comprises executing the code commits that includes executing payment processing code for processing EMV-based card present transactions with an EMV vector kernel and one or more emulated EMV cards, and running tests against the executing code commits to validate behavior the payment processing code including the EMV vector kernel, wherein the tests comprise running one or more emulated EMV cards against the vector kernel as part of one or more emulated EMV-based card present transactions and monitoring communications related to the one or more emulated EMV-based card present transaction communications.

The first end is electrically coupled to an electrical ground, the first end is mechanically coupled to the POS device, and the second end is positioned for contact with a top edge of the payment card. When the payment card is inserted into the ICC socket and the top edge comes into contact with the second end, the first end and the second end form a first electrical path for electrostatic discharge between the payment card and the electrical ground.

Reading apparatus

According to one embodiment, a reading apparatus includes a shielding body, an antenna, and a reader and writer. The shielding body is formed in a box shape with an upper opening, to place an accommodating body and to shield radio waves. The antenna is provided in the shielding body to receive information from an RFID tag attached to a product that is passing through the opening. The reader and writer is connected to the antenna to read information of the product from the information received by the antenna.
