BIOMETRIC IDENTIFICATION DEVICE AND METHODS OF USE
A removable card-enabled BPID Security Device integrates a removable card reader with a biometric authentication component to provide secured access to electronic systems. The device allows for an individual to insert a removable card into an aperture in the physical enclosure of the BPID Security Device, allowing the removable card and the BPID Security Device to electronically communicate with each other. The BPID Security Device is based on a custom application specific integrated circuit that incorporates removable card terminals, such that the BPID Security Device can communicate directly with an inserted removable card. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the BPID Security Device is based on a commercial off-the-shelf microprocessor, and may communicate with a commercial off-the-shelf microprocessor removable card receiver using a serial, USB, or other type of communication protocol. The device allows for enrolling a user's credentials onto the BPID Security Device and for authenticating an individual using the BPID Security Device.
Systems and methods for collision avoidance in a multiple RFID interrogator environment
A method for collision avoidance in a multi-reader environment comprising a plurality of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) interrogators, the method comprises each of the plurality of interrogators entering a quiet state during which none of the interrogators transmits, each of the plurality of interrogators selecting a transmit time after the quiet period during which each of the interrogator will attempt to transmit, each of the plurality of interrogators monitoring their associated receive path, an interrogator of the plurality of interrogators transmitting an instruction during its selected transmit time indicating the beginning of a session when the interrogator does not detect data on its receive path prior to its select transmit time, the interrogator comparing its receive path to its transmit path when it transmits the instruction, the interrogator returning to the quiet state when the receive path does not match the transmit path, and the interrogator completing the session when the receive path matches the transmit path.
Animal Wellness Monitoring Systems and Methods
An animal management system for monitoring a plurality of animals over time includes a data management subsystem and a data acquisition subsystem, which includes RF asset tags. The data acquisition acquires data concerning the animals and efficiently provides it to aspects of the system for processing. The data may also include information from an environment data acquisition subsystem. The data management subsystem determines current wellness scores for each animal of a group of animals and a period wellness score for each animal over a larger period of time. Alerts may be sent went data shows an animal outside of threshold values. Other embodiments are presented.
Method and system for managing multiple applications in near field communication
Apparatus and method for managing connections of a plurality of devices by a Near Field Communication (NFC) Controller (NFCC) through NFC. The method includes setting identification information of an entity, the entity being requested from an NFC device for a connection with the NFC device; and setting a logical link between the NFC device and the entity based on the identification information.
Mobile proximity coupling device
The invention relates to a mobile proximity coupling device (100) for inductive coupling with an integrated circuit of a proximity object, the integrated circuit comprising a coupling interface for inductive coupling, the proximity coupling device (100) comprising a contactless interface (107) being configured to inductively transmit a first number of commands towards the integrated circuit, and, after transmitting a respective command, to wait for a reception of a dedicated answer to the respective command from the integrated circuit within a predetermined time interval; and a processor (109) being configured to determine a quality indicator upon the basis of a second number of received dedicated answers to the first number of commands, the quality indicator indicating a quality of an inductive coupling between the contactless interface and the coupling interface of the integrated circuit.
Mobile proximity coupling device with display
The invention relates to a mobile proximity coupling device (100) for inductive coupling with an integrated circuit of a proximity object, the integrated circuit comprising a coupling interface for inductive coupling, the mobile proximity coupling device (100) comprising a contactless interface (107) for inductive coupling with the coupling interface of the integrated circuit; a processor (109) for determining a quality indicator indicating a quality of the inductive coupling; and a display (111) for displaying a desired change of position of the mobile proximity coupling device relatively to the proximity object if the quality indicator indicates an insufficient quality of the inductive coupling.
INCREASED POWER TAG READ CYCLE
A radio frequency identification (RFID) system first interrogates, in a first mode, one or more particular target zones of the plurality of target zones including a given target zone. Each particular target zone is interrogated with one of the antennas at a time at a first power for the particular target zone. The RFID system monitors, upon first interrogating, for a trigger condition to occur. In response to the trigger condition not occurring, the RFID system continues the first interrogation in the first mode. In response to the trigger condition occurring, the RFID system second interrogates the given target zone in a second mode at a second power with a plurality of the antennas. The second power for the given target zone is greater in an aggregate across the second interrogating antennas than the first power for the given target zone
Event based interrogation zone tracking system for product samples
The invention provides a temporary installation of a system of RFID-based terminals and user-worn RFID devices within an event interrogation zone. At an event, terminals are located within, and associated with, vendor booths erected in the interrogation zone. User RFID devices are issued to users wishing to enter the interrogation zone. Each user RFID device includes an element worn by the user, and an attached or embedded RFID tag with a stored unique UserID. Products for sampling have unique ProductIDs. The terminals are programmed for: (1) retrieving the UserID when the user enters the vendor booth; (2) retrieving a ProductID of a product sampled by the user; and (3) retrieving the UserID when the user leaves the vendor booth. The UserID and timestamps of entry, departure, and ProductIDs of products sampled are communicated to a server. The system allows tracking of products sampled and user behavior during an event.
Transponder system for transmitting key-encrypted information and associated keys
A transponder (1) comprises at least one memory (MEM1, MEM2) for storing encrypted information (E_k(EPC, PI)) that has been encrypted by use of a key (k) and for storing the key (k) associated with the encrypted information (E_k(EPC, PI)). The transponder (1) is adapted to send the key (k) slower response than the encrypted information (E_k(EPC, PI)) in response to queries of a reading device (2), which is preferably done by delaying the transmission of the key (k) or by limiting the response rate at which the key (k) is transmitted. In particular the invention is related to RFID systems.
Multifunctional Portable Data Card and Data Transmission Method
A multifunctional portable data card and a data transmission method are provided. The data card includes a main control module, a gear selection module, a data transmission module, an interface module and a storage module. The main control module detects a gear selection signal generated by the gear selection module, and sends a corresponding operation command to the data transmission module according to a working mode corresponding to the gear selection signal; the data transmission module performs data transmission in the data transmission mode or the OTG data processing mode after receiving the operation command; the interface module provides a port for interaction between the multifunctional portable data card and an external device; and the data card further includes the storage module.
