Risk-based biometric identification and authentication with trusted source for security access

A method including receiving, in a security device, a user object storing stored biometric data describing a biometric parameter of the user. Sensed biometric data is generating by sensing directly, using a sensor, the biometric parameter of the user. The stored biometric data is compared to the sensed biometric data. A confidence factor is determined using a first degree of trust, assigned to the object, combined with a second degree of match between the stored biometric data and the sensed biometric data. A user input is received indicating a desired activity. A risk factor is determined based on a combination of the confidence factor and the user input. The risk factor is compared to a selected pre-determined threshold. The user is granted a selected level of access to the security device from among different levels of access to the security device when the risk factor satisfies the selected pre-determined threshold.

This invention is an SOC with an integrated single rail power supply that interfaces with the host controller and dynamically changes the host interface supply to 3.3 volts or 1.8 volts based on the sensed card speed grade. The SOC initially selects 3.3 volts to supply to the memory card. The SOC communicates with memory card vis input/output circuits to determine a memory type. The controller selects a 3.3 volt or 1.8 volt supply for the memory card based upon the determination. The SOC powers the input/output circuits at the same supply voltage as the memory card. This invention employes 1.8 volt transistors in the input/output circuits using a bias voltage to protect these transistor from the full 3.3 volt power when the memory card is powered to 3.3 volts.

A card-based method for generating a dynamic password, in which the method comprises: power on a device, initialize a current running state as a first state, prompt a user to press down a mode key, the device determines an operation to be executed when the mode key is pressed down, obtain input data according to the operation on a number key pressed by the user in the case that a number key is pressed down; obtain a confirm state according to the operation on a state key pressed by the user in the case that a state key is pressed down; otherwise, execute a corresponding operation according to the current running state, the corresponding operation comprises: obtain a dynamic password according to the interaction with the card and preset process the password data and output the dynamic password. According to the invention, both internal data of the card held by the user and information input by the user take part in the generation of the dynamic password, thus, the password data is formed to protect from being manipulated so as to make the process of generating a dynamic password more secure.

Contactless Smart-card Reader with Security and Hybrid Multi-core Parallel Verifying Process
20170286947 · 2017-10-05 ·

A contactless smart-card reader with security and hybrid multi-core parallel verifying process is provided. The reader obtains a card number via an antenna and a card-recognizing unit. The reader has multiple issuer-SAM controllers and a maincontroller to synchronously compute authentication codes under a multiplexing-mode. The maincontroller verifies the contactless smart-card by the authentication codes one-by-one to obtain a correct authentication code authorized by the contactless smart-card. When the correct authentication code is generated by any one of the issuer-SAM controllers, said issuer-SAM controller performs the compounded-security-access-software program. When the correct authentication code is generated by the maincontroller, the maincontroller performs the dedicated-security-access-software program.

Electronic access control device

Embodiments of the present invention provide an improved access control unit with an asymmetric transmission pattern. A shielded backplate reduces the interior transmission pattern. The secure side transmission pattern is much smaller than the unsecure side transmission pattern, such that a credential located within the secure side area of a building is not likely to trigger the access control unit, thus reducing the risk of an unauthorized access.
