INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
An information processing apparatus includes a first area being a security protection area in the information processing apparatus; a second area being outside the security protection area in the information processing apparatus; a first processor arranged in the first area; a second processor arranged in the second area and connected to the first processor; a reader arranged in the first area and connected to the first processor; and a speaker arranged in the second area and connected to the second processor. The first processor acquires a read information from the reader and sends an information on a payment processing related the payment to the second processor. The second processor sends a payment sound information which is a sound related to the payment to the speaker based on the payment processing, and the speaker outputs the payment sound based on the payment sound information.
BIOMETRIC IDENTIFICATION DEVICE WITH REMOVABLE CARD CAPABILITIES
A removable card-enabled BPID Security Device integrates a removable card reader with a biometric authentication component to provide secured access to electronic systems. The device allows for an individual to insert a removable card into an aperture in the physical enclosure of the BPID Security Device, allowing the removable card and the BPID Security Device to electronically communicate with each other. The BPID Security Device is based on a custom application specific integrated circuit that incorporates removable card terminals, such that the BPID Security Device can communicate directly with an inserted removable card. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the BPID Security Device is based on a commercial off-the-shelf microprocessor, and may communicate with a commercial off-the-shelf microprocessor removable card receiver using a serial, USB, or other type of communication protocol. The device allows for enrolling a user's credentials onto the BPID Security Device and for authenticating an individual using the BPID Security Device.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS ON WHICH CARD READER IS MOUNTABLE
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion configured to form an image on a sheet; a mounting portion on which an IC card reader which includes a lighting portion where light indicating an operation state comes on and which is used for user authentication is mounted; a reader cover mounted on the mounting portion and covering the IC card reader, wherein the reader cover is provided with a plurality of openings, either one of the openings opposing the lighting portion of the IC card reader; and a light transmission sheet provided on the reader cover and covering the openings, wherein transmittance of visible light for the light transmission sheet is 5% or more and 25% or less.
Predictive data object acquisition and processing
A payment terminal such as a payment reader may receive and form electrical connections with an electronic transaction card such as an EMV chip card. The payment terminal may provide power to the electronic transaction card and engage in communications with the electronic transaction card. Based on information received from the electronic transaction card, the payment terminal may predict the locations of data objects that must be accessed in order to process transactions. The data objects may be accessed based on the predictions and the transaction may be processed.
NON-CONTACT TYPE INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE
A non-contact type information processing device structured to communicate with a medium in a non-contact manner may include a first circuit part having a first antenna, and the first circuit part may be configured to communicate with the medium at a first resonance frequency by electromagnetic induction. The non-contact type information processing device may further include a second circuit part having a second resonance frequency which is separated from the first resonance frequency, and the second circuit part may include a second antenna and a light emitting element which is operated by electric power obtained by an induced current that is received by the second antenna.
Card-type electronic device capable of suppressing rise in temperature, slot, and electronic apparatus
A card-type electronic device capable of suppressing a rise in the temperature of signal lines for high-speed communication requiring impedance control while ensuring sufficient thermal connection and electrical connection. A connector is fixed to a substrate on which electronic components that generate heat are mounted, and includes electrical contacts electrically connected to an external apparatus and a thermal contact thermally connected to the external apparatus. A cutout is formed in the substrate between a portion to which the thermal contact is fixed and a portion to which the electrical contacts are fixed.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device includes a card interface and a processing module. The card interface is electrically connected to the processing module, and a SIM card or a memory card may be inserted into the card interface. The card interface includes 8 springs, where N>1; when a memory card is inserted into the card interface, the memory card is electrically connected to the processing module; and when a SIM card is inserted into the card interface, the SIM card is electrically connected to the processing module, and one metal pin of the SIM card is electrically connected to a first spring in the N springs and one spring adjacent to the first spring. The processing module is configured to determine, based on at least a level of the first spring, that an inserted card is a SIM card or a memory card.
HIGH PERFORMANCE REMOVABLE STORAGE DEVICES
The present disclosure relates to a device for reading from and/or writing to a removable storage card. The device can comprise a housing including a wall defining a housing opening sized to receive a removable storage card. The device can also comprise a thermal management system attached to at least a part of the wall of the housing. Further, the device can comprise a biasing mechanism interoperable with the housing and configured to bias the thermal management system into thermal communication with a card surface of the removable storage card in response to insertion of the removable storage card into the housing opening. In some aspects, the biasing mechanism is configured to move from the first position to the second position in response to the insertion of the removable storage card into the housing opening. Also, the biasing mechanism can comprise an elastic member interoperable with the thermal management system.
Smart redundant pairing of a card reader
Systems and methods are provided for communicating information between card readers and mobile devices. The systems and methods include providing a physical communication connection from a card reader to a mobile device. With the mobile device, determining whether successful physical connection to the card reader has been established and determining whether a wireless connection has been established with the card reader. If a wireless communication connection has not been established with the card reader, establishing a wireless communication connection with the card reader and continuously monitoring whether the physical communication connection and the wireless communication connection with the card reader continues and communicating information between the card reader and the mobile device using both the connections as long as either continues. Further, only the wireless communication connection or the physical communication connection between the mobile device and the card device is utilized when the other communication connection is not available.
