Card reading transaction system with an intermediate server
10685192 · 2020-06-16 · ·

A card reading transaction system includes a transaction control device, an intermediate server, a smart card server, an internet dongle, and a card reader. The transaction control device transmits a transaction message according to a transaction type and a transaction amount. The intermediate server generates a transaction request message according to the transaction message. The smart card server generates a transaction confirmation message according to the transaction request message. The intermediate server generates a first card reader operation message according to the transaction confirmation message, and converts a transmission format of the first card reader operation message to generate a second card reader operation message. The internet dongle converts a transmission format of the second card reader operation message received through the internet to generate a third card reader operation message for the card reader to debit or credit the transaction amount.

SMART REDUNDANT PAIRING OF A CARD READER

Systems and methods are provided for communicating information between card readers and mobile devices. The systems and methods include providing a physical communication connection from a card reader to a mobile device. With the mobile device, determining whether successful physical connection to the card reader has been established and determining whether a wireless connection has been established with the card reader. If a wireless communication connection has not been established with the card reader, establishing a wireless communication connection with the card reader and continuously monitoring whether the physical communication connection and the wireless communication connection with the card reader continues and communicating information between the card reader and the mobile device using both the connections as long as either continues. Further, only the wireless communication connection or the physical communication connection between the mobile device and the card device is utilized when the other communication connection is not available.

IC card, and IC card charging connector

An IC card has an IC chip, a rechargeable battery that supplies electrical power to the IC chip, a card main body that houses the IC chip and the rechargeable battery, and charging terminals for charging the rechargeable battery. The charging terminals include a positive terminal arranged on one of the front surface and the rear surface of the card main body, and a negative terminal arranged on the other one.

RECHARGING AN EMBEDDED BATTERY IN A SMART CARD

Method for control of card reader
10599892 · 2020-03-24 · ·

A method for control of a card reader is provided. A control unit of a card reader performs an IC contact holding step for continuously energizing a solenoid to press an IC contact block against a card, and a holding voltage lowering step in which a state in which the IC contact block is pressed against the card is kept by performing chopper control of repeatedly turning on and off energization to the solenoid. The control unit performs the chopper control with a duty cycle being lowered stepwise. A duty cycle one stage before a duty cycle that is first determined to be a duty cycle in which the IC contact block is not held in a spring contact position (that is, a sensor is turned off) is stored in a storage unit. Thereafter, chopper control is performed by using the duty cycle stored in the storage unit.
