Various apparatuses for use in a wireless network are disclosed. A first apparatus comprises two antennae oriented orthogonally, a biosensor capable of reading a user's fingerprint, and a housing comprising a groove for guiding a user's finger, the groove physically separating the antennae, effectively creating a radome for each antenna. A second apparatus comprises a printed circuit board (PCB) a port, a shell enclosing the PCB, and at least one horseshoe gasket, the shell and gasket creating a waterproof seal isolating the port and the external environment from the rest of the PCB. A third apparatus comprising a bracket for attaching a housing to a building material, an aiming annulus for aiming the housing and the housing. Wherein two or more of the bracket, aiming annulus and housing may be joined in order to mount and aim the housing using one or more structures on the components.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide apparatuses, systems, methods, and computer program products, for identification and confirmation of a user entity associated with a near-field item. An apparatus may be provided, the apparatus configured to receive, from a user device, an electronic data transmission associated with the user device and indicative of response to a near-field verification prompt. The electronic data transmission is received over a carrier network including a carrier device configured to inject identity-linked device information using a header enrichment process. The apparatus further determines an identification confirmation indicator based on the identity-linked device information; transmits, to the user device, an identification completed notification for forwarding to a service provider device; receives, from the service provider device, an identification verification query and, in response, provides the identification confirmation indicator. If successfully confirmed, a service provider device may provide services associated with the near-field item.

Apparatus and Methods for Monitoring Objects in a Surgical Field

A system and method for performing a package status check are provided, including a scanner for use in a surgical field and having an antenna for emitting a radio frequency detection field, the scanner including control circuitry configured to determine a predetermined quantity of sponges corresponding to a complete pack of sponges; count a number of sponges associated with the pack with the scanner prior to use of the sponges in a surgical field; and issue an alert when a number of counted sponges does not match the predetermined quantity corresponding to the complete pack. The system and method may include the control circuitry configured to determine whether a sponge has been re-scanned or is unknown by comparing detected information with previously detected information prior.

A card reader includes a front wall where an insertion slot opens, a conveyance path extending from the insertion slot toward a back side, a magnetic head configured to read information from a card conveyed along the conveyance path, a conveyance mechanism configured to convey the card inserted into the insertion slot along the conveyance path, an entry sensor configured to detect that the card has been inserted into the insertion slot, and a controller. The controller performs an insertion monitoring start instruction step to start monitoring insertion of the card by the entry sensor upon receipt of an initialization command transmitted from a higher-level device and a carry-in start instruction step to start carry-in of the card by the conveyance mechanism when the entry sensor detects the insertion of the card.

A method of confirming the identity of a person who issued a token to signify eligibility for a privilege. Possession token is confirmed to be by the same person by using sensors in the token which track the movements of the person. A machine learning system is trained to evaluate the sensor data detecting transfer of possession of the token. The state of continuous possession since the token was issued or set to an enabled state is confirmed and the privilege is granted. The method of identity confirmation is used in various contexts such as for to control entry to a location, use of a facility or service. It is also useful to determine continuous possession of a weapon to prevent misuse after the weapon is stolen, dropped or lost. Servers, beacons and outside sources of data or inputs to be measured by the sensor can also be used.
