Acquiring a biometric print by means of a smartcard
Described is a system (SY) comprising a card (DV1) and a peripheral device (DV2) configured to cooperate together to enable a biometric print to be acquired. The smartcard (DV1) includes a biometric print sensor (10) and a control module for transmitting control signals (SG) to the peripheral device (DV2), each control signal (SG) being defined by a respective single level of an electrical characteristic. Apart from a possible internal power supply, the peripheral device (DV2) may include passive components only, including a user interface (20) configured to put itself into a predetermined state in response to each received control signal (SG), so as to guide a user in acquiring a biometric print by means of the biometric print sensor (10).
Test apparatus, test system including test apparatus, test method using test apparatus and test system, and method of manufacturing integrated circuit
A test system is provided. The test system includes a test board provided with a near filed communication chip and including an antenna; a tag holding apparatus including first and second tag holders accommodating first and second NFC tags, respectively, and a first controller configured to adjust a position of each of the first and second tag holders; and a second controller configured to: transmit a first test signal to the test board to perform a first communication test for the NFC chip and the first NFC tag; receive a result of the first communication test; and determine whether or not the NFC chip normally reads first data stored in the first NFC tag. The first controller is configured to place the first NFC tag and the antenna to be spaced apart from each other by a first distance based on a type of the first NFC tag and face each other, and rotate the first and second tag holders when the first communication test is completed.
Mobile device stand, stand system and combined case for mobile device
A stand for positioning a mobile device comprises a quick attach mount configured to receive a mobile device and a height-adjustable upright member connected to support the quick attach mount and adjustable to position the quick attach mount within a desired height range for users.
Embedded trace capacitive signet stamp
An embedded trace capacitive signet is described. The embedded trace capacitive signet provides for authentication and validation through interaction with a touch screen of a computing device such as a smart phone. The embedded trace capacitive signet has a substrate such as a card, a plurality of conductive circle points affixed to the substrate, a user conductive area that allows a user to provide capacitance to the conductive circle points, and thin traces connecting each circle point to the user conductive area. Placing the circle points in different locations produces unique cards that can be detected by a touch screen of a computing device to initiate a software based application.
Systems and methods for controlling secured data transfer via URLs
An authenticated data sharing system may include a contactless card comprising a processor and a memory including one or more applets and an application comprising instructions for execution on a device. The application is configured to determine a capability associated with the contactless card after a first entry into a communication field. The application is configured to request additional information based on the determination. The one or more applets are configured to transmit, to the application, a generated tokenized link after a second entry into the communication field based on the requested additional information. The application is configured to transmit the link to obtain the requested additional information.
Wireless devices for storing a financial account card and methods for storing card data in a wireless device
A non-transitory computer-readable medium stores instructions causing a processor to generate a menu displaying representations of a plurality of cards, the cards having associated card data; receive, from a user input device, a selection corresponding to a selected one of the cards; update the menu to display a representation of the selection; and authorize transmission of the card data associated with the selected card to complete a transaction.
Card reader based payment transactions from a web browser
A browser executing on a computer terminal associated with a merchant receives a payment request for a purchase by a customer from the merchant. The computer terminal transmits, over a communications network to a mobile communication device associated with the customer, a push notification including the payment request and a set of instructions. The payment request indicates an identifier and amount of the purchase. The set of instructions causes the mobile communication device to activate a card reader using a mobile payment app, present the purchase amount to the customer on a touch-sensitive display of the mobile computing device, receive an acceptance of the purchase amount from the customer via the touch-sensitive display, and authorize the card reader to process payment for the purchase amount based on the acceptance. The computer terminal receives, over the communications network, a confirmation of the processed payment from the mobile computing device.
Multilayer stack including RFID tag
A multilayer stack includes a first stretchable layer having a first length, a first adhesive layer disposed on a top surface of the first stretchable layer and having the first length, a second stretchable layer disposed on a top surface of the first adhesive layer and having a second length smaller than the first length, a radio frequency identification tag including an antenna having a spiral form and disposed on a top surface of the second stretchable layer or on a bottom surface of the second stretchable layer, a second adhesive layer disposed on the second stretchable layer and having a third length less than the first length and greater than the second length where the second adhesive layer encapsulates the second stretchable layer, and a third stretchable layer disposed on a top surface of the second adhesive layer and having the third length.
SURGICAL CANNULAS AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF IDENTIFYING SURGICAL CANNULAS
A cannula for insertion of a medical instrument includes a tube portion and an attachment portion coupled to the tube portion. One or more magnets are arranged at the attachment portion and configured to encode identifying information of the cannula. The attachment portion comprises a plurality of encoding positions that each indicate part of the identifying information; and for each encoding position of the plurality of encoding positions, absence of one of the one or more magnets at the respective encoding position indicates a first value, presence of one of the one of the magnets with a first orientation at the respective encoding position indicates a second value, and presence of one of the one of the magnets with a second orientation at the respective encoding position indicates a third value.
COMMUNICATION DEVICE TO SENSE ONE OR MORE BIOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF A USER
A communication device for sensing one or more biometric characteristics of a user. The device includes a cover structure, a layer of output pixel elements, a layer of biometric input pixel elements, and a processor. The cover structure includes an exterior surface. The layer of output pixel elements is positioned below the exterior surface and configured to provide an output through the exterior surface toward the user. The output pixel elements being at least one of light emitting pixel elements and piezoelectric-out pixel elements. The layer of biometric input pixel elements is positioned below the exterior surface to receive a reflected biometric input passing from the user through the exterior surface. The biometric input pixel elements being at least one of light detecting and piezoelectric-in pixel elements. The processor is connected to the biometric input pixel elements to process the reflected biometric input.
