In some implementations, a device may receive data identifying products and encoded data identifying smart tags of the products. The device may map the data and the encoded data to generate encoded product data. The device may receive encoded data provided by smart tags of products received by a store. The device may receive images of the products. The device may compare the encoded data and the encoded product data to identify a set of the products received by the store. The device may correlate the images with the set of the products. The device may process the correlated data to identify locations of the set of the products in the store. The device may generate an instruction to relocate a product to a new location and may provide the instruction to a device, associated with the store, to cause the product to be relocated to the new location.

Method for providing a container with food, the method comprising: providing a container for infant formula food, adding the food, sealing the container with a gas-tight membrane seal, adding an inner scannable code on the gas-tight membrane seal, closing the container with a tamper-proof closure means, so that the inner scannable code is not scannable without breaking a part of the tamper-proof closure means, and storing the inner scannable code in a database.

The disclosure provides an approach for measuring performance between a virtualized desktop infrastructure (VDI) client running on a client device and a remote computing device. Embodiments include generating, by a performance client on the client device, an event and storing a time associated with generating the event. Embodiments include transmitting, by the VDI client to the remote computing device, a message based on the OS event. Embodiments include determining, by a performance agent on the remote computing device, a time associated with receiving the message at the remote computing device and causing an indication of the time to be displayed in a virtual desktop screen. Embodiments include extracting, by the performance client, from the virtual desktop screen, the time, and determining a performance metric based on the extracted time and the time associated with receiving the message at the remote computing device.

A reduced size optical code identifier includes a transparent body having a flat bottom surface with a rounded or domed top surface that meets the bottom surface around the perimeter of the bottom surface. An optical code is provided in the body adjacent the bottom surface and is visible through the top surface. The top surface is configured to reduce reflection to facilitate optical recognition and decoding of the optical code. The body has a maximum length or diameter of about twelve millimeters or less. The identifier can be placed on an object or structure and then used to associate information with the optical code of the identifier so that the information can be retrieved using a computing device that can optically recognize the code and communicate with a remote server.

A method of generating and using a 2D barcode to provide an authenticated service subscriber with an adapted offer comprising monitoring and identifying, by a monitoring application associated with a first service provider, a social network for keywords related to a negative subscriber interaction with a second service provider; engaging a subscriber associated with the negative interaction by the first service provider; generating a one-time use 2D barcode associated with an offer and comprising embedded subscriber information; storing the barcode in a data store; sending the barcode to a mobile device; presenting and scanning the barcode; decoding the information by an offer application; authenticating the identity of the subscriber; adapting the offer based on the subscriber information; searching an inventory data store associated with a physical retail location of the first service provider; locating and presenting the adapted offer; and marking the barcode as expired in the barcode data store.

Image data depicting a 2D machine-readable code is up-sampled and compressed with a lossy compression process before being sent from a client device to a remote server for code reading. The remote server decompresses the sent information, extracts a payload from the machine-readable code, and causes result information to be sent back to the client device for display or other action. The up-sampling and compression operations performed on the client device can employ software instructions that are downloaded to, and executed by, browser software on the client device. Various embodiments of a physical instrument are described herein. The physical instrument comprises a reference array platform having a top surface and a bottom surface. A reference array including one or more different fiducial markers is disposed on the top surface of the reference array platform. The Tag Element System allows users to create, upload, and share virtual content in the physical world utilizing the Tag Element System platform, “Enhanced Tag Elements”, and a smart device such as a smartphone or tablet. Any user can record a video or create other content and attach it to an Enhanced Tag Element simply by scanning or otherwise interacting with it with their smart device. The system provides a user interface to enable a user to create and upload new content upload previously stored content to the Tag Element System. A device configured to identify a first digital document in a digital document repository, to identify a first graphical code that represents the first digital document, and to send the first graphical code to an approved user device. The device is further configured to obtain a second graphical code that represents a public encryption key for the organization and to extract the public encryption key for an organization from the second graphical code. The device is further configured to obtain a third graphical code from the approved user device. The third graphical code represents a second digital document comprising data and a digital signature that was signed using a private encryption key for the organization. The device is further configured to determine the third graphical code passes validation using the public encryption key for the organization and to store the second digital document in a digital document repository.

The present invention provides improved spectral signature strategies for use in a wide range of product and service applications. The present invention encodes spectral signature features into one or more optical brightener compounds and/or one or more infrared absorbing compounds. Equipment is modified with appropriate ultraviolet/violet or infrared LED illumination sources and corresponding detectors, optionally optical filters, and optionally mask elements, in order to read the spectral responses. These features desirably are used in combination with one or more other luminescent taggant compounds.
