Method of and system for reading visible and/or invisible code symbols in a user-transparent manner using visible/invisible illumination source switching during data capture and processing operations
A digital imaging based symbol reading system has the capacity to automatically read both visible and invisible symbols in the same application environment. Typically, the system reads the symbols in a user-transparent manner. The system may employ visible/invisible illumination switching during operation. The system may include LED illumination sources. A method for reading both visible and invisible symbols using a single device is also disclosed.
System and method for marking, tracking, and locating stains on a fabric item for application of a stain treatment prior to laundering
A system and method for marking, tracking, and locating stains on a fabric item for application of a stain treatment prior to laundering is disclosed. The system and method uses an RFID tag to mark the stain or stains on a fabric item and uses a transponder to locate the RFID tag and the stained fabric item. The user is then able to precisely locate both the stained fabric item and the precise location of the stain or stains on the fabric item for a chemical pretreatment prior to laundering. Once the stained fabric item is located, the RFID tag is removed and once all RFID tags are removed, the transponder is placed in a standby or power saving mode.
Dynamic image recognition model updates
A method includes receiving first image data at an electronic device, and performing a first image recognition operation on the first image data based on a first image recognition model stored in a memory of the electronic device. The method may include sending an image recognition model update request from the electronic device to a server, in response to determining that a result of the first image recognition operation fails to satisfy a confidence threshold. The method includes receiving image recognition model update information from the server and updating the first image recognition model based on the image recognition model update information to generate a second image recognition model. The method further includes performing a second image recognition operation based on the second image recognition model.
A CHECKOUT COUNTER AND A REGISTRATION AREA OF A CHECKOUT COUNTER
The present invention discloses a checkout counter which includes loading areas, registration area and packing area, where the registration area comprises means for motion detection and optionally parallel checkout and registration of purchased goods where the means at least comprises: a first registration zone, a second registration zone, and at least one registration means adapted to register goods from the first and the second registration zone, and a packing area configured to receive goods from two registration zones in parallel.
Removing unwanted objects from a photograph
Methods, systems and computer program products for removing unwanted objects from a photograph are provided. Aspects include identifying a plurality of objects in the photograph and classifying each of the plurality of objects as one of a static object and a dynamic object. Aspects also include removing one or more of the plurality of objects classified as dynamic objects from the photograph and identifying one or more additional photographs, which include one or more of the plurality of objects classified as static objects. Aspects further include integrating content from at least one of the one or more additional photographs in a location of the removed dynamic objects in the photograph.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE CONTROL METHOD
Provided are: an acquisition section that acquires image data; a detection section that detects a marker portion indicated in the image data; a communication section that performs communication with either one or a plurality of external servers including at least one of a plurality of dictionary functions; a processing section that (i) specifies, from the dictionary functions, a dictionary function in accordance with a type of the marker portion, and (ii) causes the communication section to transmit, to the external server including the specified dictionary function, an instruction to search for a text indicated by the marker portion, and for information related to the text, by using the dictionary function; and a generation section that generates a glossary including the received information related to the text upon reception of the information related to the text as a search result from the external server by the communication section.
NETWORK EDGE DEVICE WITH IMAGE THRESHOLDING
Methods, systems, and storage media for image thresholding at a network edge device are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a network edge device may include a camera to be operated by at least one of the one or more processors to capture a monitoring image of a condition proximal to the device at a location. An image threshold module may be operated by at least one of the one or more processors to determine if the monitoring image exceeds a threshold relating to the condition at the location. A communication module may communicate to a remote network location an indication if the monitoring image exceeds the threshold relating to the condition.
Image capture and processing system supporting a multi-tier modular software architecture
An image capture and processing system supports a multi-tier modular software, and plug-in extendable, architecture. The image capture and processing system can be realized as an image-capturing cell phone, a digital camera, a video camera, mobile computing terminal and portable data terminal (PDT), provided with suitable hardware platform, communication protocols and user interfaces. A third-party customer can write and install a software plug-in into the application layer so as to enhance or modify the behavior of the image capture and processing system without any required knowledge of the hardware platform, communication protocols and/or user interfaces.
System and method of selective auxiliary data capture
A method of auxiliary data capture control includes: storing, at a data capture device, a trigger condition and a baseline value captured by a sensor; controlling the sensor to obtain captured data; determining, based on the captured data and the baseline value, whether the trigger condition is satisfied, wherein the trigger condition includes whether the captured data exceeds the baseline value; and when the trigger condition is satisfied, controlling an auxiliary data capture sensor to obtain auxiliary captured data.
