Method and device for joining a plurality of individual digital images to form a total image
In a device and a corresponding method for joining a plurality of individual digital images to form a total image, a plurality of features is determined in a first individual image by means of a selection unit using a feature-based algorithm and then tracked in a second individual image by means of a tracking unit. A transformation matrix, with which the individual images are joined in an output unit to form the total image, is calculated from the determined feature correspondences in a transformation unit. The individual images can be joined in real time and with a high degree of accuracy by means of the feature-based algorithm in combination with a robust algorithm to calculate the transformation matrix.

Method for near-realtime workspace mapping
Motorized machinery, such as overhead cranes, are widely used in industries all over the world. It is not easy to move crane payloads without oscillation, increasing the likelihood of obstacle collisions and other accidents. One possible solution to such problems could be aiding the operator with a dynamic map of the workspace that shows the current position of obstacles. This method discloses the use of a camera to take images of the workspace, using imaging blurring to smooth the obtained images, and drawing contours to produce an individual, near real-time map of the workspace. In one or more embodiments, known obstacles may be tagged in a manner which is readable by the camera. This image and historical images of the same workspace are layered on top of one another to produce a map of obstacles on the workspace floor. This imaging and layering can produce a near real-time map of obstacles that can be used to guide heavy motorized machinery around a workspace without incident.
Mosaic generation apparatus and method
A mosaic generation apparatus includes: a display outputting an image, a memory storing one or more instructions, and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory to: extract a first feature value from one of a plurality of sub-base areas included in a base image, extract a second feature value from one source image selected from among a plurality of source images, and generate a sub-mosaic corresponding to the one sub-base area using the first feature value and the second feature value.
COMPUTING A POINT CLOUD FROM STITCHED IMAGES
A method and system for creating a point cloud are disclosed. A first image is captured by a first camera sensor and a second image is captured by a second camera sensor. The first and the second image have an area of overlap. Location of the first camera relative to the second camera is predetermined and each of the first and the second camera is having a field of view of more than 180 degrees. Based on the area of overlap, the first and the second image are stitched to create a composite stitched image. In one aspect, depth information from the area of overlap is extracted based on the predetermined location and a point cloud is created from otherwise to be discarded image data in the area of overlap.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING CONTEXT RELEVANT MEDIA AUGMENTATION
Systems and methods are presented that provide for receiving, at a server computer, a content item from a client device, determining, by the server computer, that a characteristic of the content item matches a trigger for a media overlay, generating, by the server computer, a media overlay associated with the characteristic of the content item, and providing, by the server computer, the media overlay to the client device wherein the media overlay is displayed on a user interface of the client device.
IMAGE ANALYSIS SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method of determining the movement of a camera, wherein the movement is expressed in terms of an absolute transformation of the camera state from a reference state, the method comprising: receiving a stream of video images captured from said camera; producing a stream of odometry measurements from said video images determining the relative transform of the camera state between consecutive images or consecutive sets of images; producing a stream of loop closure measurements from said video images by determining the relative transform of the camera state between non-consecutive images or non-consecutive sets of images; estimating the absolute transform of the camera state from a posterior distribution of the relative transformations over the odometry measurements and the loop closure measurements, wherein the posterior distribution is approximated by a factorised distribution which assumes that the relative transformations are mutually independent.
Method And System For Obtaining Pair-Wise Epipolar Constraints And Solving For Panorama Pose On A Mobile Device
Aspects of the disclosure generally relate to connecting panoramic images. One or more computing devices may load and display a first panoramic image captured at a first location and receive a selection of an area on the first panoramic image, the area corresponding to where a connection to other panoramic images may be made. The one or more computing devices may identify and display one or more nearby panoramic images which were captured near the first location and receive a selection of one of the one or more nearby panoramic images. The one or more computing devices may display the selected panoramic image and the first panoramic image and align the selected panoramic image with the first panoramic image such that the selected panoramic image is oriented in the same direction as the first panoramic image. The one or more computing devices may connect the selected panoramic image with the first panoramic image.
