In some examples, an apparatus obtains source layer pixels, such as those of a content image and first destination layer pixels, such as those of a destination image. The first destination layer pixels have associated alpha values. The apparatus obtains information that indicates a first blending color format for the alpha values. The first blending color format is different from a first destination layer color format for the first destination layer pixels and an output color format for a display. The apparatus converts the source and/or first destination layer pixels to the first blending color format. The apparatus generates first alpha blended pixels based on alpha blending the source layer pixels with the first destination layer pixels using the associated alpha values. The apparatus provides, for display on the display, the first alpha blended pixels.

Sharing videos having dynamic overlays

Techniques are described that enable a user to share videos having dynamic overlays on a social networking system. In some examples, a server computing device may receive, at a first time from a first client device, a first video. For instance, the server computing device may begin receiving the first video after the first client device has concluded capturing the first video, but has not yet completed customizing the first video. The server computing device may receive, at a second time after the first time and from the first client device, a dynamic overlay including customizations to be applied to the first video. The dynamic overlay may be transmitted separately from the first video. In examples, the server computing device generates a second video by applying the dynamic overlay to the first video. The server computing device then provides the second video to a second client device.

A scalar opacity map is calculated for the 3D image dataset, the opacity map having a value for each of a plurality of positions in the 3D image dataset, the respective value being dependent on the respective position relative to the highlight position, and on the value of the 3D image at the respective position relative to the value of the 3D image at the highlight position. The opacity is applied to the 3D image dataset to generate a modified 3D image view.
