Medical image processing apparatus

A medical image processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry extracts, based on a first area that is an area to which radiation is emitted and a second area that is an area affected by the radiation emitted, a cross-section that satisfies a certain condition and that passes through two points, the first area and the second area being specified by volume data and the two points being a first point included in the first area and a second point included in the second area. The processing circuitry causes a display to present an image of the cross-section.

A core-line extraction unit extracts a core line of the blood vessel from a three-dimensional image of a subject including the blood vessel. A local-route extraction unit extracts a local route of the core line within a predetermined range based on a reference point on the core line. In a case where a plurality of points on the local route are projected, a plane setting unit sets a plane having an orientation in which a distribution of a plurality of the projected points has a reference value based on a maximum value of the distribution, as a display plane of the three-dimensional image.

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer programs for processing tomographic images

A method, system and computer readable storage media for segmenting individual intra-oral measurements and registering said individual intraoral measurements to eliminate or reduce registration errors. An operator may use a dental camera to scan teeth and a trained deep neural network may automatically detect portions of the input images that can cause registration errors and reduce or eliminate the effect of these sources of registration errors.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL INSPECTION OF A WORKPIECE FOR CONFORMANCE TO A SPECIFICATION

A method for three-dimensional (3D) inspection of a workpiece for conformance to a specification includes scanning, by a 3D optical scanning device, a hole formed in a workpiece to generate a 3D point cloud of the hole defined in a 3-axis coordinate system of the 3D optical scanning device. The 3D point cloud includes 3D point cloud data that provides a profile of the hole. The method also includes translating the 3D point cloud data to generate translated 3D point cloud data that facilitates analysis of the 3D point cloud. The method further includes performing analysis of the hole using the translated 3D point cloud data to determine conformance of the hole with a specification and to detect anomalies associated with the hole.

Immersive environment with digital environment to enhance depth sensation

There is described a method for operating an immersive display. A plurality of objects are displayed to a viewer within an immersive environment. A computer system controls an image rendering of the immersive environment and a size, location and appearance of each one of the plurality of objects. The controls can be made by the operating system adapted to this task. Such controls provide a monocular psychological depth cue to the viewer for each one of the plurality of objects.

A system determines an object-design for a three-dimensional model of an object. The object-design may exhibit a design continuity. The system breaks the object-design in to spatial patterns corresponding to the discrete surfaces making up the outward surface of the object. The system then generates flattened patterns by projecting the spatial patterns into a two-dimensional plane. The system prints the flattened patterns on to designated regions of material sheets in an orientation that preserves the design continuity of the object-design. The regions may be extracted from the sheets and then joined at their edges to form a cover for object that exhibits the continuity of the object design.

SURFACE AND IMAGE INTEGRATION FOR MODEL EVALUATION AND LANDMARK DETERMINATION

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a software program that displays both a volume as images and segmentation results as surface models in 3D. Multiple 2D slices are extracted from the 3D volume. The 2D slices may be interactively rotated by the user to best follow an oblique structure. The 2D slices can “cut” the surface models from the segmentation so that only half of the models are displayed. The border curves resulting from the cuts are displayed in the 2D slices. The user may click a point on the surface model to designate a landmark point. The corresponding location of the point is highlighted in the 2D slices. A 2D slice can be reoriented such that the line lies in the slice. The user can then further evaluate or refine the landmark points based on both surface and image information.

METHOD FOR FORMING WALLS TO ALIGN 3D OBJECTS IN 2D ENVIRONMENT

Example systems and methods for virtual visualization of a three-dimensional (3D) model of an object in a two-dimensional (2) environment. The method may include capturing the 2D environment and adding scale and perspective to the 2D environment. Further, a user may select intersection points on a ground plane of the 2D environment to form walls, thereby converting the 2D environment into a 3D space. The user may further add 3D models of objects on the wall plane such that the objects may remain flush with the wall plane.

A navigated surgery system includes at least one processor that is operative to obtain a 2D medical image slice of anatomical structure of a patient. The operations further obtain a 3D graphical model of anatomical structure. The operations determine a pose of a virtual cross-sectional plane extending through the 3D graphical model of the anatomical structure that corresponds to the anatomical structure of the 2D medical image slice. The operations control the XR headset to display the 2D medical image slice of the anatomical structure of the patient, display the 3D graphical model of the anatomical structure, and display a graphical object oriented with the pose relative to the 3D graphical model of the anatomical structure.
