Provided are a design assistance device, a design assistance system, a server, and a design assistance method that can display shapes and specification information of a plurality of items included in an item group so that a user can easily view the items. The design assistance device includes: a three-dimensional data acquisition unit that acquires three-dimensional data of an item group including a plurality of items; a display data generation unit that generates two-dimensional display data including a two-dimensional display representing an appearance of the item group and specification information of at least one of the items in one observation direction in the three-dimensional data; and a display mode determination unit that determines a display mode of the specification information in the two-dimensional display based on a shape of each of the items as well as relative positions and relative orientations between the items as viewed in the one observation direction.
Automated measurement of interior spaces through guided modeling of dimensions
Introduced here computer programs and associated computer-implemented techniques for establishing the dimensions of interior spaces. These computer programs are able to accomplish this by combining knowledge of these interior spaces with spatial information that is output by an augmented reality (AR) framework. Such an approach allows two-dimensional (2D) layouts to be seamlessly created through guided corner-to-corner measurement of interior spaces.
Evaluation of digital twins using social automatons
In one example, the present disclosure improves simulations based on the use of digital twins using social automatons. In one example, a method performed by a processing system including at least one processor includes constructing a digital twin of a physical environment, constructing a social automaton, wherein the social automaton comprises a virtual representation of an individual that is programmed to exhibit behaviors and characteristics of the individual, and inserting the social automaton into the digital twin to create an extended reality media in which interactions of the social automaton with the digital twin simulate interactions of the individual with the physical environment.

Method for determining real world measurements from an apparel 3D model
A system and method is provided for creating editable configurations of 3D models and for using a specific type of 2D vector, namely a straight line, to compute and display real world measurements on the 3D model. A 3D model with UV map is created corresponding to a manufacturing pattern and to scale by a Scale Factor. A 2D vector created and overlaid on the UV map of a 3D model, is used to create several virtual mesh groups outlined by the 2D vector, on the underlying 3D model. Two points on a 3D model is selected to create a 2D Vector comprising the points on the UV map corresponding to the selected points on the 3D model. The Path Length of created 2D Vector and the Real Length as Path Length*Scale Factor, are calculated.
Dynamic Dimensioning Indicators
An example computing system is configured to (i) generate a cross-sectional view of a three-dimensional drawing file; (ii) receive a first user input indicating a selection of a first mesh, wherein the selection comprises a selection point that establishes a first end point; (iii) generate a first representation indicating an alignment of the first end point with at least one corresponding geometric feature of the first mesh and a second representation indicating a set of one or more directions; (iv) receive a second user input indicating a given direction; (v) based on receiving the second user input, generate a dynamic representation of the dimensioning information along the given direction; (vi) receive a third user input indicating that the second user input is complete; (vii) based on receiving the third user input, add the dimensioning information to the cross-sectional view between the first end point and the second end point.
Associating a point cloud image with a piping line drawing and applying dimensions regarding the same
A method for creating a line drawing associated with a point cloud provides a line drawing representing a three-dimensional object and a point cloud of the same. The line drawing has line drawing coordinate data, and the point cloud has point cloud coordinate data. The point cloud also has point cloud distance data of the three-dimensional object. The method also associates the line drawing coordinate data with the point cloud coordinate data. Further, the method uses the associated coordinate data to apply the point cloud distance data to the line drawing.
Estimating dimensions of geo-referenced ground level imagery using orthogonal imagery
A system and method is provided for measurements of building façade elements by combining ground-level (201) and orthogonal imagery (906). The measurements of the dimension of building façade elements are based on ground-level imagery that is scaled and geo-referenced using orthogonal imagery (209). The method continues by creating a tabular dataset (1002) of measurements for one or more architectural elements such as siding (e.g., aluminum, vinyl, wood, brick and/or paint), windows or doors. The tabular dataset can be part of an estimate report (1002).
Adjusting dimensioning results using augmented reality
A system and method for using an augmented reality interface to adjust the results from a dimensioning system are disclosed. The augmented reality interface allows users to easily correct dimensioning errors, improve dimensioning results, and guide dimensioning analysis. In one embodiment, the user may adjust/select the results via hand gesturing/positioning within the system's field of view. In another embodiment, the user may use virtual tools, enabled by hand gesturing/positioning, to adjust the results. In still another embodiment, the user may shine a light into the system's field of view to adjust the results. The augmented reality interface embraced by the present invention provides the user with an easier, more-intuitive means for interacting with dimensioning system results.
