DOCUMENT CLUSTERIZATION USING NEURAL NETWORKS
An example method of document classification comprises: detecting a set of keypoints in an input image; generating a set of keypoint vectors, wherein each keypoint vector of the set of keypoint vectors is associated with a corresponding keypoint of the set of keypoints; extracting a feature map from the input image; producing a combination of the set of keypoint vectors with the feature map; transforming the combination into a set of keypoint mapping vectors according to a predefined mapping scheme; estimating, based on the set of keypoint mapping vectors, a plurality of importance factors associated with the set of keypoints; and classifying the input image based on the set of keypoints and the plurality of importance factors.
METHOD OF AUTHENTICATING DOCUMENTS BY MEANS OF A MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS TERMINAL
A method for authenticating at least one document having a predetermined format and carrying at least one security pattern of appearance that varies as a function of an angle of observation, the method comprising the steps of: capturing at least one image of the document; determining a camera angle by comparing geometric characteristics detected in the document and stored predetermined geometric characteristics; deducing an expected appearance for the security pattern; comparing the expected appearance with an appearance detected in the image of the document; and declaring the document authentic when the expected appearance matches the detected appearance.
METHODS FOR MOBILE IMAGE CAPTURE OF VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS IN A NON-DOCUMENT
Various embodiments disclosed herein are directed to methods of capturing Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) from images captured by a mobile device. Capturing VIN data can be useful in several applications, for example, insurance data capture applications. There are at least two types of images supported by this technology: (1) images of documents and (2) images of non-documents.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STRIKE THROUGH DETECTION
The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for strike through detection and, more particularly, to systems and methods for detecting a strike through in an address block of a mailpiece. The method is implemented in a computing device and includes: generating edges of lines within a text block identified through optical character recognition processes; locating text lines within the text block; characterizing the edges within the text lines and outside of the text lines; and grouping identified edges of the characterized edges outside of the text lines into co-linear groups.
ENHANCING DOCUMENTS PORTRAYED IN DIGITAL IMAGES
The present disclosure is directed toward systems and methods that efficiently and effectively generate an enhanced document image of a displayed document in an image frame captured from a live image feed. For example, systems and methods described herein apply a document enhancement process to a displayed document in an image frame that result in an enhanced document image that is cropped, rectified, un-shadowed, and with dark text against a mostly white background. Additionally, systems and method described herein determine whether a stored digital content item includes a displayed document. In response to determining that a stored digital content item does include a displayed document, systems and methods described herein generate an enhanced document image of a displayed document included in the stored digital content item.

Authentication of a Physical Credential
Aspects described herein may provide detection of a physical characteristic of a credential, thereby allowing for authentication of the credential. According to some aspects, these and other benefits may be achieved by detecting the physical characteristic with the credential. An image of a credential may be received. An optical characteristic of a secure feature of the credential may be determined. An expected optical characteristic of the secure feature may be determined based on known properties of the secure feature. A determination as to whether the credential is authentic may be based on a comparison of the determined optical characteristic of the secure feature to the expected optical characteristic of the secure feature.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FORMAT-AGNOSTIC DOCUMENT INGESTION
A system for format-agnostic document ingestion including a document ingestion server and a database is disclosed. The server is configured to receive an image of a document comprising text in an unknown format, convert the image, using OCR, into a plurality of text elements a content, a size, and an absolute position. The server is also configured to retrieve data detectors from the database, each associated with a data type anticipated to be in the document, and comprising at least one identifier and direction, and at least one validation criteria. The server is also configured to identify a potential descriptor by comparing the content of each text element with the at least one identifier, and then determine if the text element pointed to by the data detector meets the validation criteria. Finally, the server is configured to associate the validated text element with the data detector, and store the content.
