Identifying objects within images from different sources
Techniques are disclosed for providing a notification that a person is at a particular location. For example, a resident device may receive from a user device an image that shows a face of a first person, the image being captured by a first camera of the user device. The resident device may also receive, from another device having a second camera, a second image showing a portion of a face of a second person, the second camera having a viewable area showing a particular location. The resident device may determine a score indicating a level of similarity between a first set of characteristics associated with the face of the first person and a second set of characteristics associated with the face of a second person. The resident device may then provide to the user device a notification based on determining the score.

System and method for conversation-based notification management
A method for dynamic notification management at a head mounted display (HMD) includes presenting, at the HMD, an augmented reality display, receiving, at a processor controlling the HMD, a notification from an application for display at the HMD, receiving, at the processor at a first time, first sensor data from one or more of a camera or a microphone, determining, based on the first sensor data, a first value of one or more factors associated with a probability that a user of the HMD is currently in a real-world conversation, determining an importance value of the received notification at the first time, and determining whether to display the notification from the application based on a comparison of the first value of the one or more factors associated relative to the importance value of the received notification.
INTELLIGENT GALLERY MANAGEMENT FOR BIOMETRICS
A system provides intelligent gallery management for biometrics. A first gallery is obtained that includes biometric and/or other information on a population of people. An application is identified. A subset of the population of people is identified based on the application. A second gallery is derived from the first gallery by pulling the information for the subset of the population of people without pulling the information for the population of people not in the subset. Biometric identification (such as facial recognition) for the application may then be performed using the second gallery rather than the first gallery. In this way, the system is improved as less time is required for biometric identification, fewer device resources are used, and so on.

METHOD FOR MATCHING AN IMAGE OF A PALM OF AN INDIVIDUAL WITH AT LEAST ONE IMAGE FROM A PLURALITY OF REFERENCE PALM IMAGES
A method for matching an image of a palm of an individual with at least one image from a plurality of reference palm images, which includes: creation of a reference base from the plurality of reference palm images comprising, for each reference palm image, a selection of at least one reference palm region and a coding into a reference regional biometric information item, determination of an individual palmary biometric information item from the image of the palm of the individual comprising a selection of at least one individual palm region and the coding thereof into individual regional biometric information item, for each image, comparison of each individual regional biometric information item with each reference regional biometric information item, and matching of the image of the palm of the individual with at least one image from the plurality of reference palm images, as a function of a result of the comparison.

PROCESSING SYSTEM, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM STORING CONTROL PROGRAM, AND IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS
A processing system including an image processing apparatus provided with a display section, the processing system includes, from a face authentication section that performs face authentication processing based on a coincidence rate between a face image corresponding to registered face data and a captured image of a face of a user, an acquisition section that acquires the coincidence rate; and when the user is authenticated by the face authentication processing, a processing section that displays an execution instruction screen for receiving an execution instruction of image processing to be executed by the image processing apparatus on the display section. When the user is not authenticated by the face authentication processing, the processing section displays a different screen in accordance with a level of the coincidence rate on the display section.

Facial biometrics system and method using digital fingerprints
Facial biometric systems and methods employ digital fingerprints that represent facial characteristics. These systems and methods may perform various digital fingerprint related processes including induction (acquiring of the facial data, generation of a digital fingerprint and storing in a database) and authentication (a process of using the digital fingerprint of the face to perform biometrics). The facial biometric system and method combines these processes with a particular set of hardware to perform the facial biometrics process that is novel and provides benefits and capabilities not achievable by other biometric systems and methods.
