Aspects of the technology described herein relate to techniques for guiding an operator to use an ultrasound device. Thereby, operators with little or no experience operating ultrasound devices may capture medically relevant ultrasound images and/or interpret the contents of the obtained ultrasound images. For example, some of the techniques disclosed herein may be used to identify a particular anatomical view of a subject to image with an ultrasound device, guide an operator of the ultrasound device to capture an ultrasound image of the subject that contains the particular anatomical view, and/or analyze the captured ultrasound image to identify medical information about the subject.

Another aspect of the present disclosure relates to a method for identification verification. The method may include receiving, from a computing device, a request for identification verification of an individual at a web server. The web server may include an orientation verification module and a facial recognition module. The method may include receiving at a database an identification card image and a picture image. The method may include verifying an orientation of the identification card image is oriented relative to an accepted orientation using the orientation verification module. The method may include, if the identification card image is not oriented relative to the accepted orientation, using the web server, iteratively rotating the identification card image in one or more increments and assessing if the identification card image is oriented at the accepted orientation until the identification card image is oriented at the accepted orientation.

The present technology relates to a fingerprint authentication device, a fingerprint authentication method, and a program capable of efficiently perform registration of fingerprint information or authentication of a fingerprint. A presentation image that presents a position of a fingernail root at the time of detecting the fingerprint is generated, and an image of the fingerprint is obtained using the generated presentation image. The present technology may be applied to, for example, a smartphone-type device, a wristband-type device, a tablet terminal, and the like.

A method for fingerprint enrollment according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is adapted to an electronic device including a display and a fingerprint sensor. The method includes displaying a fingerprint enrollment interface on the display, wherein the fingerprint enrollment interface includes a progress indicator, displaying, according to a swipe action of a finger detected by the fingerprint sensor, a growing progress of the progress indicator on the fingerprint enrollment interface, and displaying, in response to the fingerprint sensor detecting that the finger is not removed, the progress indicator in a growing state on the fingerprint enrollment interface to represent that fingerprint information is being collected from the swipe action. According to the method disclosed in the embodiments of the present disclosure, it is possible to guide a user to input more fingerprint information.

A fingerprint unlocking method and a terminal are provided. The method may be applied to a terminal having an in-screen fingerprint detection function. When the terminal is in a screen-locked state, the terminal determines whether an operation of a user meets a preset condition. If the operation of the user meets the preset condition, a fingerprint recognition identifier is displayed on a touch display screen of the terminal. A display area of the fingerprint recognition identifier is an area in which fingerprint recognition can be performed. The method resolves a problem that the user cannot perform fingerprint unlocking because the user cannot see a position of a fingerprint detector.

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a display, a fingerprint sensor disposed on one surface of the display, a memory storing a plurality of fingerprint images mapped to information indicative of a plurality of guide lines, and a processor operatively connected to the display, the fingerprint sensor, and the memory. The processor may be configured to display a first user interface (UI) indicative of a fingerprint recognition area and, as a second UI, a guide line corresponding to a fingerprint image having a high quality value among the plurality of fingerprint images stored in the memory by using the display, based on an input signal to request fingerprint authentication being detected, obtain a fingerprint image of a finger by using the fingerprint sensor based on the finger of a user touching the fingerprint recognition area, compare the obtained fingerprint image and a fingerprint image mapped to information indicative of the first UI and/or the second UI, and perform the fingerprint authentication based on the obtained fingerprint image and the mapped fingerprint image being identical with each other based on a result of the comparison.

Systems and methods for authenticating a user in an authentication system using a computing device configured to capture authentication biometric identity information. The authentication biometric identify information captured during an authentication session. The authentication biometric identify information may comprise or be derived from one or more images of the user being authenticated. The authentication biometric identify information is compared to root identify biometric information. The root identify biometric information is captured from a trusted source, such as trusted devices located at trusted locations, such as a government entity, financial institution, or business. Identity verification may occur by comparing the trusted root identify biometric information to the biometric identify information captured during an authentication session. Liveness determination may also occur to verify the user is a live person. Liveness determination may include comparing two images of the user such that the two images are captured at different distances from the user.

Some embodiments relate to a self service station for conducting a passenger interaction process in transit environment, including, a display screen to display a visual prompt to present a travel document in a field of view of a video image recording device as part of the passenger interaction process, and configured to determine from the received live video images a document face image present on the travel document, to determine from the received live video images a machine-readable zone (MRZ) of the travel document and store a captured MRZ image of the MRZ, to process the captured MRZ image to determine identification information on the travel document, and store the document face image and the identification information for use in the passenger interaction process.
