EFFECT GENERATION DEVICE, EFFECT GENERATION METHOD, AND PROGRAM
20170309051 · 2017-10-26 ·

The present disclosure relates to an effect generation device, an effect generation method, and a program that enable the generation of a new effect in accordance with an interaction between physical objects. An image processing device includes a detector that detects a face and an object from an input image, a face feature point analyzer that extracts a plurality of feature points locating a part constituting the face, an object feature point analyzer that extracts a plurality of feature points locating a part constituting the object, a determination unit that determines a relationship between target objects including positions of the plurality of target objects and at least an expression on the face, and an effect generator that generates a predetermined corresponding effect on the basis of the determined relationship. The present technology can be applied to, for example, an imaging device.

System and method for detecting the authenticity of products

System and method for detecting the authenticity of products by detecting a unique chaotic signature. Photos of the products are taken at the plant and stored in a database/server. The server processes the images to detect for each authentic product a unique authentic signature which is the result of a manufacturing process, a process of nature etc. To detect whether the product is genuine or not at the store, the user/buyer may take a picture of the product and send it to the server (e.g. using an app installed on a portable device or the like). Upon receipt of the photo, the server may process the receive image in search for a pre-detected and/or pre-stored chaotic signature associated with an authentic product. The server may return a response to the user indicating the result of the search. A feedback mechanism may be included to guide the user to take a picture at a specific location of the product where the chaotic signature may exist.

Remote control apparatus capable of remotely controlling multiple devices

The present invention relates to a remote control apparatus which can remotely control multiple devices. A remote control apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a key input unit having multiple keys; a reception unit for receiving at least one device identification signal from at least one device or a transmission device corresponding to the device; a processor for detecting an identification signal for a device, which can be remotely controlled, from the at least one received device identification signal, and matching at least one of the multiple keys to a control command for the remote control of the device, on the basis of the detected identification signal; and a transmission unit for transmitting a signal corresponding to the control command when the key matched to the control command is selected. Accordingly, the present invention can remotely control multiple devices.

Tyre sidewall imaging method

A computer implemented method is proposed for classifying one or more embossed and/or engraved markings on a sidewall of a tyre into one or more classes comprising digital image data of the sidewall of the tyre. The method comprises generating a first image channel from a first portion of the digital image data relating to a corresponding first portion of the sidewall of the tyre. Generating the first image channel comprises performing histogram equalisation on the first portion of the digital image data to generate the first image channel. The method further comprises generating a first feature map using the first image channel and applying a first classifier to the first feature map to classify said embossed and/or engraved markings into one or more first classes.

INTERACTIVE COMPETITIVE ADVERTISING COMMENTARY
20170293938 · 2017-10-12 · ·

A sponsoring brand may provide an application for mobile devices that allows users to take pictures of competitor advertisements and that provides responses to any assertions found in the competitor advertisements. The application may instruct a user to capture an image of an advertisement. Various types of detection and/or recognition components may be used to analyze the image to detect and recognize assertions, logos, and other objects or characteristics. The application then displays the image, and also displays responses or commentary relating to any assertions, logos, objects, or characteristics. The responses may point out errors, exaggerations, misstatements, deceptive statements, etc., and may also contain information that promotes the sponsoring brand.

Methods and apparatus to measure brand exposure in media streams

Methods and apparatus to measure brand exposure in media streams are disclosed. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes a brand identifier detector to compare first data associated with a first scene of a media stream with second data associated with a reference scene including a first brand identifier to detect the first brand identifier in the first scene of the media stream. The example apparatus also includes a measure and tracking module to combine respective locations of the first brand identifier in respective frames of a first sequence of image frames forming the first scene to determine a weighted location for the first brand identifier. The example apparatus further includes a report generator to report appearance data corresponding to the first brand identifier, the appearance data including the weighted location for the first brand identifier.

Detection of encoded signals and icons

The present disclosure relates to signal decoding and icon (e.g., a logo, shape, icon, etc.) detection. In some implementations, a series of filters are applied to scanlines to determine whether an icon is present. Other aspects, combinations and implementations are described as well.

DETERMINATION METHOD, DETERMINATION SYSTEM, DETERMINATION DEVICE, AND PROGRAM
20170287147 · 2017-10-05 ·

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a technique for determining the authenticity of a product without requiring a special device such as an integrated circuit (IC) tag. A means for solving this problem according to the invention is characterized by determining the authenticity of a target product on the basis of the validity of the association between the body of the product and a surface-treated component that is mounted to the body and that has been validated.

Moving image recognition apparatus and moving image recognition method

According to an embodiment, a moving image recognition apparatus includes a moving object detection unit, a data code reading unit, a label recognition unit, an association unit, and an output unit. The moving object detection unit detects moving objects from a moving image stored in a buffer unit and identifies each of the moving objects. The data code reading unit detects a data code from each frame of the moving image and decodes the detected data code. The label recognition unit detects and recognizes a label from each frame of the moving image. When the recognized label and the decoded data code exist on the same object, the association unit associates them. The output unit outputs together the decoding result of the data code and the recognition result of the label associated with the decoding result.
