This disclosure relates to the technical field of automobiles and software and discloses an interface circuit and a method and apparatus for interface communication thereof. In the interface circuit, a micro-control unit has an output interface connected to a first conversion unit connected to a USB HOST interface and a USB SLAVE interface and a second conversion unit connected to an HDMI interface, and is configured to control the first conversion unit to be set in a HOST mode to communicate with the USB HOST interface when receiving a trigger signal from the USB HOST interface, the first conversion unit to be set in an SLAVE mode to communicate with the USB SLAVE interface when receiving a trigger signal from the USB SLAVE interface, and the second conversion unit to output the TMDS signal to communicate with the HDMI interface when receiving a trigger signal from the HDMI interface.

A communication error diagnosis apparatus for a vehicle, a system including the same and a method thereof may provide a communication error diagnosis apparatus including: a processor configured to transmit a request message including diagnostic identifiers for diagnosing a plurality of controllers that perform vehicle functions and sequence identifiers of the controllers to the controllers depending on a sequence to receive response messages, and configured to analyze vehicle communication errors based on the response messages received from the controllers; and a storage configured to store data and algorithms driven by the processor.

A method of providing mobile application-based assistance with vehicle emissions testing compliance includes establishing a user profile associated with a user of a mobile communication device, receiving, from an emissions test provider identified by the mobile application, diagnostic data retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic tool and subsequently uploaded to the at least one server, providing the received diagnostic data to a government-authorized server that is capable of deriving an emissions test result for the registered vehicle based on the received diagnostic data, receiving the emissions test result from the government-authorized server, associating the emissions test result with the user profile by matching a VIN included in the received diagnostic data with a VIN included in the user profile, and providing the emissions test result to the mobile communication device, the emissions test result being displayable on the mobile communication device by the mobile application.

A system for use with a handheld electronic device for coordinating retrieval of diagnostic information from a vehicle includes computer readable instructions downloadable onto the handheld electronic device for configuring the handheld electronic device to receive a request signal from a scheduling server. The request signal includes vehicle information of a third-party vehicle for which retrieval of diagnostic information has been requested. The computer readable instructions further configure the handheld electronic device to display information related to the received request signal on the handheld electronic device and receive user input representative of the user agreeing to retrieve the diagnostic information from the third-party vehicle. The computer readable instructions additionally configure the handheld electronic device to send an accept signal to the scheduling server in response to receipt of the user input.

A method and system for creating driver telematic signatures. The driver telematic signatures include device-independent vehicle-independent information. The telematics signatures are continuously created and artificial intelligence (AI) analyzed in real-time and with a dynamic Big Data set to provide a calibrated, driver safety scoring system that communicates with a driver's vehicle or a network device in a driver's vehicle when it is on and moving. The driver telematics signatures provide current driver performance data, driver habit data and allow determination in real-time of drivers performing normal driver maneuvers and risky driver maneuvers. The driver telematics signature are also used to determine a cost of insurance for driver of vehicles.

One or more specialty corpuses may comprise obscure, protected, or emerging diagnostic data for the last-common tasks specific to particular manufacturers of the vehicle or its components. The second corpus and one or more specialty corpuses may offer access only to users that have acquired sufficient authorization.

The automation definition circuit is structured to interpret an automation description.
