Coin machine using proximity and ambient light sensing technology
A coin acceptor includes main body having coin dispenser mounted therein, coin tubes mounted in the main body and disposed at the bottom side of the coin dispenser, and sensing device including multiple optical sensor modules respectively aimed at the coin tubes. The distance between each optical sensor module and the coins in the respective coin tube is calculated by: measuring the time taken for the reflected light to travel from the coins in the respective coin tube to the proximity sensor of the respective optical sensor module and then multiplying the time thus measured by the speed of light. The number of coins in each coin tube is calculated by: deducting the distance between the respective optical sensor module and the coins in the respective coin tube from the pre-measured depth of the empty coin tube, and then dividing the reminder thus obtained by the thickness of single coin.

Coin processing apparatus
A coin processing apparatus determines an authenticity and a type of a received coin, holds a coin, which is determined to be an authentic coin, and then sorts and stores the coin for each type of coin and that further pays a stored coin in response to a coin drawing command. The coin processing apparatus includes a conveyor that conveys the coin. The conveyor includes a screw-type conveying member including a cylindrical shaft section, and a blade section provided on an outer circumference of the cylindrical shaft section in a helical fashion and protruding in a radial direction. The screw-type conveying member is rotated around a central axis of the shaft section so that a coin is conveyed.

COIN DELIVERY SYSTEM WITH TEMPORARY HOLDING STACK DEVICE
A coin delivery system adapted for use in coin-operated vending machines. The coin delivery system utilizes a temporary holding stack device designed to temporarily hold one or more coins during a transaction, thereby decoupling the coin sorting from the user transaction, whereby the pace of the sorting is avoided for completing verification of the user transaction.
Money handling apparatus and money handling method
A money handling apparatus (for example, a money depositing and dispensing machine (100)) includes a reading unit (129) that reads change machine information that is information stored in a recording medium (304) about a money change machine (200) provided separately from the money handling apparatus; a dispensing unit that dispenses money; and a controlling unit (102) that controls the dispensing unit to cause the dispensing unit to dispense money that is to be replenished in the money change machine (200) based on the change machine information read by the reading unit (129).
