The control unit 50 is configured to create the sorting pattern by deciding types of banknotes to be stacked in the respective stacking units 60a to 60h, based on the number of the stacking units 60a to 60h and the sorting category.

Systems and methods for processing bank notes using a distributed tracking system

A distributed system for tracking bank notes as they pass through an automated currency processing system is disclosed. The bank note processing system includes a conveyance device for transporting a bank note along a transport path and a detector module comprising a detector. The detector detects raw detector information from the bank note. The detector controller is communicatively coupled to the detector module and the raw detector information is communicated to the detector controller. A host controller is communicatively coupled to the detector controller. The detector controller processes the raw detector information to determine processed detector information. The detector controller then communicates the processed detector information to the host controller.

Cash processing apparatus

A cash processing apparatus includes a storage section, a money depositing conveyance module, a money dispensing conveyance module and an identification module. The storage section stores money by denominations for paying out. The money depositing conveyance module conveys money from a money depositing port to the storage section. The money dispensing conveyance module conveys money from the storage section to a money dispensing port. The identification module identifies the denomination of the money conveyed by the money depositing conveyance module and also detects stain of the money. The money depositing conveyance module collects the money of which stain is detected by the identification module to a collection section, and conveys the money of which no stain is detected by the identification module to the storage section by individual denominations.

In this case, at least a part of a bottom portion of the upper unit 10 is opened. Additionally, a partition member 30 is provided between the upper unit 10 and the lower unit 20.

Provided is a paper sheet processing apparatus capable of distinguishing a counterfeit bill or a paper sheet suspicious to be a counterfeit bill from bills inserted through an insertion slot to stop a wrongdoing. A storage unit stores information on a paper sheet read by a bill reader and a verification unit verifies the paper sheet using the information on the paper sheet stored in the storage unit. If the paper sheet is determined to be counterfeit in the verification, a conveyance unit conveys the paper sheet toward the insertion slot. A comparison unit compares the image data of the inserted paper sheet with image data of a previously inserted paper sheet and if the image data of the inserted paper sheet is determined to be identical to the image data of the previously inserted paper sheet in the comparison, a control unit sends a signal to a host apparatus.

If the paper sheet is determined to be counterfeit in the verification, the paper sheet processing apparatus holds the paper sheet within the paper sheet processing apparatus and sends a signal from a controller of the paper sheet processing apparatus to instruct a report device to report a result different from the result of the verification. The report device reports a result irrelevant to use of a wrong paper sheet.

Two ends of an identification mechanism communicate with the annular channel via the fourth branch channel and the fifth branch channel, respectively. A recycling box communicates with the banknote conveyance channel via the banknote recycling channel. A circulation box communicates with the banknote circulation channel via the banknote circulation channel.

In-pocket currency bundler

Presently disclosed embodiments are directed to systems and methods for bundling smaller stacks of bank notes into larger sized bundles that are efficient for transportation. The system may include an in-line bundler disposed along pockets of a currency processor for receiving stacks of bank notes directly from the pocket. That way, the smaller stacks of bank notes do not have to be removed from the currency processor and transported to a separate bundler machine. Instead, the currency processor features a desired number of bundler machines disposed in-line with the corresponding pockets where the bank notes are initially received and stacked. This arrangement may enable efficient stacking and bundling of bank notes sorted via the currency processor.
