Card payment apparatus
Disclosed is a card payment apparatus. An aspect of the present invention is directed to provide a card payment apparatus, which is accessed to a portable communication apparatus or a computer without a card terminal, and then, performs a payment process by using a contactless card or a contact card.
METHOD AND AN ASSEMBLY FOR GENERATING A MAGNETIC FIELD AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN ASSEMBLY
A credit card shaped element with a dynamic stripe which may be activated or deactivated, where the stripe is formed by a plurality of coils provided along the curve thereof, where the plurality of coils are activated in a sequential manner, where a plurality of proximity sensing coils are provided in series along the curve thereof, where the plurality of coils are formed by one coil contacted at multiple positions along its length by contact pads and where the signals fed to the coils cause an output of a reader coil to output a signals with a minimum slope or where one signal fed to one track has no peaks when the other signal is close to zero.
Performing a user related operation
A method of performing a user related operation includes, with an optical reader, reading an encoded on-line address being displayed on a display of a pocket-sized card to be carried by a user; decoding the encoded on-line address; requesting access to remotely stored data using the on-line address, the remotely stored data being related to the user; and, upon the requested access being granted, loading the remotely stored data.
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND MANAGEMENT METHOD
A management system includes a terminal apparatus mounted with an application that enables electronic money to be loaded in plural types of currencies, and a management apparatus that manages the electronic money in the plural types of currencies, wherein any one of a plurality of the terminal apparatuses uses a bill splitting service of the application, and transmits a bill splitting report in which a sharing destination of a cost, a type of a first currency to be paid, and a shared amount of money have been set, the terminal apparatus of the sharing destination transmits a payment report in which the type of a second currency has been set, a share of the cost being paid in the second currency in accordance with the bill splitting service of the application, and the management apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to report the bill splitting report to the terminal apparatus.
GENERATING A SENSORY INDICATION
A system and method is provided for generating a sensory indication on a transaction card, whereby a user is rewarded with a visual, audial, haptic, or olfactory experience. The method comprises executing a purchase transaction on the card, the transaction relating to an event, charging a power source on the card, receiving an input signal by the card, the signal indicating an output indication relevant to the event, and generating an output signal using power from the power source, based on the input signal. The card comprises a security component enabling a purchase relating to an event, a power source receiving charging energy at the time of the purchase, an input component receiving an input signal comprising information specifying a desired indication relevant to the event, an output component for generating the desired indication, one or more memories storing instructions and one or more processors executing the instructions to perform the method.
ARRAY OF CARD MECHANISMS
A card mechanism used in an array with other card mechanisms. Each card mechanism handles plastic cards that are to be personalized and provided to end users. The plastic cards can be cards such as financial cards including credit and debit cards, identification cards, driver's licenses, and other plastic cards that are personalized. The card mechanism(s) can supply cards to be personalized in one or more other card mechanisms and/or in a card personalization machine used with the card mechanism(s) in which case the card mechanism(s) is configured as a card input hopper, collect cards that have been personalized in which case the card mechanism is configured as a card output hopper, and/or perform one or more personalization operations on the cards in which case the card mechanism is configured as a card personalization mechanism.
Point of sale system having a customer terminal and a merchant terminal
A point of sale system includes a merchant terminal and a customer terminal. The merchant terminal is configured to display a user interface (UI) window on the merchant terminal. The UI window on the merchant terminal displays a merchant-specific version of a screen displayed on the customer terminal. The merchant terminal receives updates from the customer terminal regarding the status of the payment portion for a transaction. The merchant terminal can provide an input to the UI window which is sent as a message to the customer terminal. Control of state for the point of sale system is shared such that when the system is in a first state, the merchant terminal is the state control terminal, and when the point of sale system is in a second state, the customer terminal is the state control terminal and has control of state for the system.
Digital jukebox device with improved user interfaces, and associated methods
Certain exemplary embodiments relate to entertainment systems and, more particularly, to systems that incorporate digital downloading jukebox features and improved user interfaces. For instance, a smart search may be provided, e.g., where search results vary based on the popularity of songs within the venue, in dependence on songs being promoted, etc. As another example, a tile-based approach to organizing groupings of songs is provided. Groupings may involve self-populating collections of songs that combine centrally-promoted songs, songs in a given genre that are popular across an audiovisual distribution network, and songs that are locally popular and match up with the given genre (e.g., because of shared attributes such as same or similar genre, artist, etc.). Different tile visual presentations also are contemplated, as are different physical jukebox designs. In certain example embodiments, a sealed core unit with the “brains” of the jukebox is insertable into a docking station.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR VERIFYING A CONTENT OF AN ANALOG DOCUMENT
A device for verifying a content of an analog document is provided. The device includes a scanning unit being configured to generate a scan information by scanning the analog document and to store the scan information in a storing element being provided on the analog document, and a verification unit being configured to verify the content of the analog document using the stored scan information. Further, a corresponding method for verifying a content of an analog document is provided. Using the provided device for verifying the content of an analog document, it can be ensured that the content of the analog document is not changed by an attacker. If the content is changed, the verification would fail.
Validator Device For a Ticketing System
A validation device for a ticketing system having at least one first short-range interface that is configured to receive at least one inspection identifier stored in an inspection element, at least one authentication module configured to verify the authenticity of the received inspection identifier, and at least one key module configured to provide a communication dataset to a second short-range interface in the case of a positive authentication result, such that the communication dataset is receivable by the inspection element via the first short-range interface and/or an additional interface of the validator device.
