OBJECT RECOGNITION SYSTEM, POSITION INFORMATION ACQUISITION METHOD, AND PROGRAM
An object recognition system, comprising at least one processor configured to: input an input image to a learning model for recognizing a first object acquire first information about a position that is a basis for recognition by the learning model having the input image input thereto; acquire second information about a position of a moving body, or a foreground, that is included in the input image; and acquire position information about a position of the first object included in the input image, based on the first information and the second information.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR CONTACT-MINIMIZED ATM TRANSACTION PROCESSING USING RADAR-BASED GESTURE RECOGNITION AND AUTHENTICATION
Apparatus and methods for contact-minimized automated teller machine (“ATM”) use and transaction processing using Doppler-radar based gesture recognition and authentication. The apparatus and methods may include an ATM including a millimeter-wave radar transmitter and receiver. Movement of one or more objects, including fingers, within a radar field may be analyzed and translated into gestures and authentication passcode(s). By utilizing the radar field instead of physical buttons or a touchscreen, contact with the ATM may be minimized.
Frictionless Retail Stores and Cabinets
Various examples of the invention conduct a purchase transaction with a first sensor that senses removal or return of a first item from a first region; a computer vision sensor that senses removal or return of a second item from the first region; a transaction detector that determines an accuracy that the sensed removal or return of the first item by the first sensor and the sensed removal or return of the second item by the computer vision sensor correspond to a single event of removal or return of an item by a consumer and that forwards, to a machine learning tool, information associated with the sensed removal or return of the first item by the first sensor and information associated with the sensed removal or return of the second item by the computer vision sensor when the accuracy is less than an accuracy threshold; the machine learning tool that verifies or corrects the information associated with the sensed removal or return of the first item or the information associated with the sensed removal or return of the second item and provides verified or corrected information to the transaction detector; and an automated billing processor, coupled to the transaction detector, that applies a purchase price of the item against an account of the consumer for the item based on the verified or corrected information, thereby completing the purchase transaction.
Controlled dispensing system and method
A controlled dispensing fixture including a display screen, a scanning device, and one or more processors is configured to: obtain via the display screen or remote scanner a selection of one or more controlled products; update a user interface on the display screen based on the selection; determine whether the one or more controlled products meet a purchase limit associated with the one or more controlled products for dispensing; obtain via the scanning device consumer identification information; determine whether the consumer identification information meets an age threshold and/or an identity requirement associated with the one or more controlled products; and in accordance with a determination that (i) the one or more controlled products meet the purchase limit for dispensing, and (ii) the consumer identification information meets the age threshold and/or the identity requirement, transmit a dispensing instruction to the dispensing fixture to dispense the one or more controlled products.
Product Dispensing System and Method
A system is provided that authenticates the identity and age of a user, that offers at least one age-restricted product for sale to the user, that enables the user to purchase the at least one product via a mobile application, that provides the at least one purchased product at a physical product locker at a location convenient to the user to travel to, that again authenticates the identity and age of the user at the physical location of the product locker prior to dispensing the product, and that, upon authentication of the user’s identity and age, releases the product to the user.
System and method for advanced identification of a customer
In a method for advanced identification of a customer, a customer may remotely place an order, intending to later go to a store to pick up the ordered item. The store may have a pick-up area (e.g., at the back of the store) where the customer can go to pick up the ordered item. To save the customer time, the customer may be identified when she enters the store so that an employee can obtain her ordered item and have it ready to pick up by the time the customer walks through the store and arrives at the pick-up area.
VENDING MACHINE SYSTEM
A method for remotely controlling a CO.sub.2 gas cylinder vending machine system, the method including displaying a remote vending machine user interface on a display of a user device, receiving on the user device user input indicating a desire to engage with the vending machine system to perform at least one of the following operations (a) return a CO.sub.2 cylinder; (b) purchase a CO.sub.2 cylinder; or (c) exchange a CO.sub.2 cylinder. The method including transmitting the user input over a communications network to a communications interface of the vending machine system, receiving the user input at the communication interface of the vending machine system and controlling the vending machine system, by a controller, based on the received user input.
VENDING MACHINE SYSTEM
A vending machine system for exchanging CO.sub.2 gas cylinders, the system including a controller in communication with a user interface, a payment system and an array of bin assemblies, wherein each one of the bin assemblies is shaped to at least partially receive an end of a CO.sub.2 gas cylinder and includes a locking system for releasably securing therein a CO.sub.2 gas cylinder, said system for performing the steps of (a) receiving user input through the user interface; and (b) if the user input represents a desire to exchange a CO.sub.2 gas cylinder, then the system performs the steps of (i) receiving payment from the user through the payment system for a replacement CO.sub.2 gas cylinder; (ii) receiving a CO.sub.2 gas cylinder in a first one of said bin assemblies; and (iii) the locking system releasing a full CO.sub.2 gas cylinder located in a second one of said bin assemblies for collection by the user.
SEMI-AUTOMATED CANISTER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
Methods and systems are disclosed including a semi-automated propane canister distribution system for distributing and exchanging propane canisters, comprising a system controller; one or more cabinet system having a cabinet controller and a cabinet with a first compartment separated from a second compartment, the first compartment having a first door and the second compartment having a second door, the first door and the second door having an open position and a closed position with a locked state and an unlocked state; a detection device; a remote display; and a remote controller device in communication with the system controller and/or the cabinet controller.
Fuel Dispenser Door Lock and Alarm Control
In general, a smart door alarm and locking mechanism and methods for use thereof are provided for maintaining security while providing ease of access to a fuel dispenser. In an exemplary embodiment, the methods and devices are used in fuel dispensing devices for providing fuel to a vehicle. However, the methods and devices can be utilized in any device having a payment system where security and access are both required. In some embodiments, the described methods and systems include a door alarm and door lock kit that allow unlocking one or more doors in a housing of a fuel dispenser and simultaneously disabling or de-activating respective door alarm sensor(s). In a similar manner, the door can be locked and the door alarm sensor activated or re-activated substantially simultaneously.
