The checkout apparatus receives, from the registration apparatus in response to the checkout processing request, transaction information generated by the registration apparatus. The payment device processes payment in accordance with the received transaction information.

A checkout system according to an embodiment includes a registration apparatus in communication with a plurality of checkout apparatuses.
