System, method and apparatus for repurposing currency

A method of repurposing coins includes the acts of discharging processed mixed coins into a coin bin, receiving a first request for a number of or value of coins of a first denomination from an authorized person, outputting the mixed coins from the coin bin onto a coin conveyor responsive to the received first request, conveying the mixed coins output from the coin bin, using the coin conveyor, to the coin processing machine for repurposing, and discharging the coins of the first denomination from the coin processing machine to a secure coin cassette and discharging coins of a denomination other than the first denomination back to the coin bin. These acts of outputting, conveying and discharging are continued until the number of or value of coins of the first denomination have been discharged to the secure coin cassette.

Coin processing device

Breakage of electrical components inside is prevented when live wire insertion-and-removal is performed after inhibition of an increase in costs. A coin processing device 1 includes a coin sorting unit 3, a coin housing unit 2, and a harness 4. The coin housing unit has a first connector 21 including a first terminal TH2, a second terminal TL1, and a first ground terminal TG1. The coin sorting unit includes: a second connector 31 coupled to the first connector through the harness, the second connector 31 including the third terminal TH4 to which a high voltage is supplied through the first terminal, a fourth terminal TL2 configured to supply a low voltage to the second terminal, and a second ground terminal TG2 grounded through the first ground terminal; a low-voltage power source circuit 32 configured to generate the low voltage from the high voltage supplied to the third terminal, and configured to output the low voltage from a low-voltage output terminal 32t; and a switch circuit 34. The switch circuit disconnects electrical connection between the low-voltage output terminal and the fourth terminal in a case where a difference between a voltage at the second ground terminal and a voltage at the low-voltage output terminal has been less than a threshold value.

KIOSK-BASED SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELLING CONSUMER PRODUCTS AND/OR SERVICES

Systems and methods are described herein for incentivizing consumers to recycle their accumulated change at consumer-operated coin counting kiosks. In various embodiments, the methods can include providing users with a plurality of deals on, e.g., leisure time activities and other rewarding goods and services that they can purchase at the coin counting kiosks in return for loose coins. The systems can include a software application, e.g., a mobile application that can be used to obtain user deal preferences and periodically provide users with deal offers that match their preferences and/or the amount of coin value they may have available to put toward a purchase. Other embodiments of the disclosed technology enable multiple users to purchase deals (e.g., group activities) as a group by making individual contributions toward the purchase price via a network of coin counting kiosks.

Electronic parking meter mechanism with wireless communication antenna

An electronic single-space parking meter mechanism is provided. The electronic single-space parking meter mechanism includes an inner housing having a front side and a rear side. The meter mechanism includes wireless communications hardware including an antenna. The meter mechanism includes a payment reader supported by the inner housing and an electronic display screen supported by the inner housing. At least a portion of the antenna is located above at least a portion of the electronic display screen.

Automated machine provided with a bill acceptor for driving a drive device

An automated machine 1 is provided to comprise a communications device 5 for receiving remotely operable signals emitted from a mobile terminal 10 to produce monetary signals corresponding to money amount data in the remotely operable signals, a bill acceptor 4 for validating bills inserted from the outside to produce the monetary signals when bill acceptor 4 judges the inserted bill to be genuine and for relaying the monetary signals from communications device 5, a control device 8 that has built-in program software to produce drive signals of the amount corresponding to the monetary signals in accordance with the program software when control device 8 receives the monetary signals from bill acceptor 4. In another aspect, communications device 5 may receive the remotely operable signals emitted from mobile terminal 10 to produce the monetary signals corresponding to the money amount data in the remotely operable signals and receive the monetary signals from bill acceptor 4 and send them to control device 8.
