Disclosed herein is a dispensing apparatus for dispensing at least one of an identification device and an article related to an event, the dispensing apparatus comprising: a storage unit storing and allowing dispensing of identification devices stored therein, an input module configured to receive an input from a user, a processor in electronic communication with the input module, the electronic processor processing the input and generating user data, the processor authenticating a user as an event participant based on at least the user data, an encoding module configured to encode the identification device with the user data to associate the identification device with the user and associate the identification device with the same event, following successful authentication of the user as an event participant, the storage unit including an opening via which the identification device can be dispensed from the storage unit in order to allow a user to retrieve the identification device from the apparatus. The dispensing apparatus may also include a printer adapted to print custom information onto one or more articles to be dispensed.

A crawler-type automatic vending machine includes a replenishment unit, m transfer units, n container units, a detection and control unit, a cloud management platform and a payment system. Methods for manufacturing cartridges for fluid mixture dispensers are disclosed herein. For example, the cartridges can be ingredient cartridges for fluid mixture dispensers each holding a set of discrete ingredients in a set of ingredient reservoirs. The methods of manufacturing the cartridges can include configuring the cartridges with loadouts including selecting specific ingredients, selecting a number of reservoirs, and selecting a relative size of the various reservoirs. The methods can also include collecting a set of population data using a network of fluid mixture dispensing devices, analyzing the set of population data, and configuring the cartridges so that they are each optimized for a consumption pattern using the set of population data. The methods can further include filling the cartridge reservoirs according to the loadout and packaging the cartridges for shipment.

The dispensers may be placed in a dispensing unit that includes a lockable restock drawer and a dispense drawer into which items are dispensed by the dispensing mechanisms. The various kinds of dispensing mechanisms may be installed in the restock drawer in any workable proportion and arrangement.
