Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for an automated kiosk which responds to natural disasters. Such a system can: receive, at a processor in an automated kiosk, an electronic weather report for weather associated with a geographic location of the automated kiosk; receive, from an exterior sensor mounted on the automated kiosk, exterior sensor data; and receive, from an interior sensor mounted inside the automated kiosk, interior sensor data. The system can then identify, via the processor and based on at least one of the electronic weather report, the exterior sensor data, and the interior sensor data, a likelihood of a natural disaster affecting the automated kiosk. The system can initiate actions to protect the kiosk and/or the products stored in the kiosk from the natural disaster, based on the likelihood and the type of threat encountered.

A medication packaging device includes a frame structure on which a guide unit is removably fastened, the guide unit having multiple receptacle openings and a dispensing opening. The device also includes multiple storage and dispensing stations, each having a storage housing and a dispensing station having a medication dispensing channel, as well as a holding unit having a plurality of mounts. For each mount, a medication slide and a storage and dispensing station are arranged such that the receptacle openings of the medication slides are associated with the medication dispensing channels of the dispensing stations and the dispensing openings of the medication slides are associated with the receptacle openings of the guide unit. The holding unit and the frame structure are fastened on or in the device to be movable relative to one another so that the guide unit is accessible from outside the device when in an access position.

A medication packaging device includes a frame structure on which a guide unit is removably fastened, the guide unit having multiple receptacle openings and a dispensing opening. The device also includes multiple storage and dispensing stations, each having a storage housing and a dispensing station having a medication dispensing channel, as well as a holding unit having a plurality of mounts. An automated vending machine for vending, accepting returns for, and restocking, vendible products. Vendible products are stored on moveable trays, resting on a shelving system, and are transported within the automated vending machine by a gantry system and dispensing unit. The shelving system and moveable trays can be adjusted to accommodate vendible products of varying shape, size, weight, and durability. The moveable trays are gravity fed forward into position for being coupled with the dispensing unit when selected. A supplementary storage area for restocking products and storing returned products is included.

In order to settle the sales transaction of an item in a cabin, an item detection unit of a vehicle settlement system detects removal of the item from an item arrangement unit provided in the cabin. An item monitoring unit monitors movement of the item when the item detection unit detects the removal of the item. A settlement processor settles the sales transaction of the item detected by the item detection unit when a predetermined condition is satisfied after the item monitoring unit detects the movement of the item out of a vehicle.

In order to settle the sales transaction of an item in a cabin, an item detection unit of a vehicle settlement system detects removal of the item from an item arrangement unit provided in the cabin. An item monitoring unit monitors movement of the item when the item detection unit detects the removal of the item. A settlement processor settles the sales transaction of the item detected by the item detection unit when a predetermined condition is satisfied after the item monitoring unit detects the movement of the item out of a vehicle.

A system for automatic filling of medication organizers comprises i) a storage unit for medication containers that is accessible from a first side thereof, ii) a plurality of medication organizer filling units, each having a temporary storage rack that is accessible from a side of the medication filling units that faces the storage unit, and iii) a container handling system that is positioned between the storage unit and the temporary storage racks and that is movable between the storage unit and each of the temporary storage racks for transferring selected medication containers therebetween. The system allows minimizing idle times by moving medication containers between the storage unit and temporary storage racks simultaneously to the filling process.

An automated kiosk includes a storage structure housed by an enclosure, with the storage structure holding trays with items, grabbing unit for picking up trays, dispensing unit for delivering an item, a conveyer mechanism to position the grabbing unit and the dispensing unit and control system. The tray holding an item is associated with the grabbing unit and the dispensing unit and delivers an item to a customer. The tray holding an item can be returned, stocked and restocked by the automated kiosk.
