IMAGE ANALYSIS APPARATUS, MONITORING SYSTEM, AND CHECKOUT SYSTEM
An image analysis apparatus includes a first interface connectable to a camera configured to capture an image of a predetermined area in which registration and payment processes for one or more commodities to be purchased are performed using a checkout apparatus and a processor. The processor is configured to when the payment process is performed, determine whether an unregistered commodity is present in the area using the image, upon determining that an unregistered commodity is present in the area, determine whether a customer is present in the area, and upon determining that the customer is not present in the area, output an alert signal.
Input device, automated teller machine and method
An input device has a support that has a user control area and that has a coupling area for coupling an object to be monitored to the input device; an electromechanical transducer structure that is coupled both to the user control area and to the coupling area; and a control apparatus that uses the electromechanical transducer structure to implement a user control function of the user control area and further to implement mechanical integrity monitoring of the object to be monitored and/or the support.
Method and secure device for performing a secure transaction with a terminal
A method for performing a secure transaction between a secure device (2) and a terminal (4), the method being carried out by the secure device (2) and comprising the steps of: receiving transaction data from the terminal (4),
characterized in that it comprises, before the step of receiving transaction data from the terminal (4), the steps of obtaining transaction data entered by a user of the secure device (2), and transmitting the transaction data to the terminal (4).
Method for evolutionary biometric recognition having speed and security features suitable for POS/ATM applications
A method quickly recognizes a person by identification codes derivable from biometric data and includes registering a user, and recognizing a registered user, out of multiple registered users, through a recognition event. Each registration event includes acquiring biometric data of the user; then, encoding the biometric data into a respective registration identification code associated with the user; and registering the user and the associated registration identification code. Each recognition event includes acquiring the biometric data; then, encoding the biometric data into a respective recognition identification. Based on said registered registration identification codes, a comparison set of comparison identification codes is prepared. The recognition identification code is compared with each comparison identification code; and for each comparison, a respective matching level is estimated. The user is recognized or refused recognition based on the estimated matching levels. Each comparison includes a processing operation carried out by applying a trained algorithm.
Banking systems controlled by data bearing records
A cash handling device having at least one processor, a communication interface, an item accepting device, an item dispensing device, an internal currency scanning system, an internal currency transport system, one or more currency storage cartridges, and a memory may receive, from a user, a request to perform a deposit transaction. Based on receiving the request to perform the deposit transaction, the cash handling device may receive at least one deposit item for deposit. Subsequently, the cash handling device may validate the at least one deposit item received for deposit. Based on validating the at least one deposit item received for deposit, the cash handling device may generate a deposit transaction record that includes information directing a banking server to apply a provisional credit to a treasury account associated with the user. Subsequently, the cash handling device may send the deposit transaction record to the banking server.
Banking systems controlled by data bearing records
A computing platform may receive, from one or more cash handling devices, aggregated activity information comprising a plurality of transaction records. Subsequently, the computing platform may identify one or more deposit transactions based on the aggregated activity information comprising the plurality of transaction records. Based on identifying the one or more deposit transactions, the computing platform may generate one or more account credit commands, which may direct at least one account management computer system to apply one or more provisional credits to one or more treasury accounts associated with the one or more deposit transactions. Subsequently, the computing platform may send, to the at least one account management computer system, the one or more account credit commands directing the at least one account management computer system to apply the one or more provisional credits to the one or more treasury accounts associated with the one or more deposit transactions.
Banking system controlled responsive to data bearing records
A card actuated automated banking machine (10) is operative to carry out financial transactions responsive to data included on user cards. The banking machine includes a user interface (15) including a display (24). The user interface includes a card reader (16) which is operative to read data on user cards which identify at least one of user and a user's financial accounts. A fascia of the machine includes a keypad (404, 438, 458) through which users input confidential data. Covers (400, 422, 430) prevent unauthorized persons from viewing confidential inputs to the keypad. Authorization signals assure that the display is operating in a manner that provides appropriate user instructions. A visual indicator is operative to indicate to a user that keypad inputs are being encrypted. Alternatively a touch screen display module (608) is operative to securely receive manual inputs and/or card data.
Information provision
A method and apparatus are disclosed for providing information to a customer of a Self-Service Terminal (SST) such as an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). The method includes the steps of updating storage data of a Near Field Communication (NFC) device at an SST and reading data associated with the storage data from the NFC device via a mobile terminal of a customer at the SST.
Automatic exception reconciliation
A system includes a template database storing, for each of a plurality of predefined root causes, a corresponding correspondence template and response form template. Each root cause corresponds to a cause of an exception associated with an ATM. An automatic reconciliation tool determines a exception has occurred associated with a ATM. A set of exception parameters are determined associated with the exception. A party is determined at the service provider with which to correspond in or order to resolve the exception. A root cause of the exception is determined. A correspondence template and a response form template are identified for the determined root cause and used to generate correspondence which includes a description of the exception, instructions for actions to take, and a link configured to provide access to a response form. The response form includes fields for providing a response parameter.
Contactless ATM transactions
Systems and methods for contactless ATM transactions are described. A method includes: transmitting a first data payload to the ATM via a first short-range wireless communication; receiving a request for authentication information regarding a user of the mobile device via the first short-range wireless communication; launching a provider institution mobile application on the mobile device based on the request for authentication information; receiving authentication information based on the request; transmitting the received authentication information to the ATM via a second short-range wireless communication; receiving a request for transaction information from the ATM via the second short-range wireless communication; and transmitting desired transaction information to the ATM as part of the ATM transaction.
