DETECTING INVENTORY CHANGES
This disclosure describes a system for tracking removal or placement of items at inventory locations with a materials handling facility. In some instances, a user may remove an item from an inventory location and the inventory management system may detect that removal and update a user item list associated with the user to include an item identifier representative of the removed item. Likewise, if the user places an item at an inventory location, the inventory management system may detect that placement and update the user item list to remove an item identifier representative of the placed item.
Systems and methods for non-contacting interaction with user terminals
Systems and methods are provided to enable users to interact with user terminals having a touch screen interface without requiring the user to physically contact a surface of the touch screen interface.
CLOUD BASED SELF CHECKOUT SYSTEM
The present invention describes a self checkout system with a cloud server. The system is configured to detect item change caused by customer actions and optimize the camera system and computing resources of a cloud server. The system also can distribute low confidence transactions to persons for review.
Systems and methods for card-handling by point of sale devices
A computer vision card reader and/or point of sale device is described. The device is configured to sense when a user inserts a card into a card reader and to determine when a user departs or is about to depart from the device without retrieving the card. The device may issue an audible or visible alert to the user, reminding the user to retrieve the card. The device may additionally send a notification to a mobile device associated with the user that reminds the user that he has left a card at the point of sale. In some embodiments, message sent to the user contains a code and, upon entry of the code, the point of sale or card reader device returns the card to the user.
Map on a phone used to find and operate public multi-user devices
A phone display, shows an internet map. The map allows a user to search for, and operate, multiuser public devices, such as, a hydrogen car fuelling station. The user finds the device, by viewing the device's location, and the phone's location on the map. For example, the phone searches for, and finds elevators, which are shown on the map. The user finds an elevator, by using the map. The user touches the elevator's displayed menu, to receive the elevator's menu's control panel. The received control panel, is displayed on the phone. The user requests the elevator move to the 4 floor, by touch activating a floor 4 icon, on the phone elevator panel. The phone, and elevator computer communicate, over the internet wirelessly, or wirelessly. The user avoids bacteria, that may be on a store's self serve check out machine's physical touch screen, by operating it with the phone.
SALES MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A sales management system includes a registration device having a processor configured to perform commodity registration based on operation of a customer who purchases a commodity. The sales management system also includes a gate device having a processor configured to execute error processing in response to receiving, as an input, information indicating that payment for the commodity registered by the registration device is completed is not input when the customer passes the gate device. The processor of the registration device is also configured to receive stop information indicating that the customer stops shopping without purchasing the commodity output information for passing the gate device. The processor of the gate device is also configured to receive, as the input, the information for passing the gate device, and allow passage of the customer without executing the error processing.
Methods and systems for detecting and tracking objects
The embodiments herein relate to surveillance of objects and, more particularly, to efficient detection and tracking of objects. A method disclosed herein includes detecting at least one object in the physical store, on receiving media from a plurality of media acquisition devices positioned in the physical store. The method further includes tracking the at least one object in the physical store by projecting input data points of each media acquisition device onto a groundplot, clustering the input data points into a single cluster, and assigning a tracking identifier (ID) to a centroid of the single cluster, wherein the centroid depicts the at least one object.

Restaurant, and order information processing method and apparatus
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for processing order information are provided. One of the methods includes: receiving, by a server from a first client associated with a user, a request for generating an order, the request comprising identification information of a food establishment, identification information of the user, and information of a selected data object; generating, by the server, the order based on the request; sending, by the server, the order to a second client associated with a processing and preparing area of the food establishment; generating, by the server, a geometric code encoding identification information of the generated order; and sending, by the server to a third client associated with a raw material storage area of the food establishment, the generated geometric code and the information of the selected data object.
Multi-device point-of-sale system having multiple merchant-facing devices
Techniques for conducting transaction(s) between a merchant and customer(s) via a multi-device point-of-sale (POS) system is described. The multi-device POS system can include a customer-facing device having a first processor for processing first instructions for presenting a customer user interface (UI) on a display of the customer-facing device. The customer-facing device can include a payment reader that is accessible by the one or more customers. Further, the multi-device POS system can include a first merchant-facing device having a second processor for processing second instructions for presenting a first merchant UI, which can enable the merchant to perform a first action associated with a first transaction of the one or more transactions. The first merchant-facing device can be coupled to the customer-facing device. The multi-device POS system can further include an application, which can be stored on the customer-facing device, a second merchant-facing device, or a personal device, for presenting a second merchant UI enabling the merchant to perform a second action.
