TAMPER DETECTION BASED ON FLEXIBLE MEMBER CONNECTING CIRCUITRY ELEMENTS
A point of sale (POS) device includes tamper detection circuitry in which one or more flexible members that each include multiple side-by-side conductive traces connect two circuit boards, optionally so that one circuit board must remain very close to the other if the device remains in a secure un-tampered-with state. Severance of a trace of the flexible member, or disconnection of the flexible member from either circuit board, may result in unexpected voltage sensor readings indicative of a tamper attempt.
STORE SYSTEM
A store system includes a server and a store terminal. The server receives data based on purchased commodities respectively input in a plurality of mobile terminals. The server stores the received data based on the purchased commodities. The store terminal acquires, from the stored data, the data based on the purchased commodity input in any one of the mobile terminals. The store terminal instructs correction of the acquired data. The server executes the instructed correction concerning the stored data.
TAMPER DETECTION BASED ON REMOVAL OF FASTENER FROM RECESS
A point of sale (POS) device includes a flexible member with two exposed conductive areas that are part of a tamper detection circuit. While a recess receives a screw, the screw passes through apertures in the flexible member and in a conductive gasket, and the conductive gasket connects the two exposed conductive areas to one another, closing the tamper detection circuit. Adhesives affix the flexible member to the screw and the conductive gasket to the recess opening so that removing the screw from the recess separates the conductive gasket from the two exposed conductive areas, opening the tamper detection circuit.
WEIGH PLATTER ASSEMBLY WITH OFF-PLATTER DETECTION
A weigh platter assembly includes a weigh platter having a proximal edge and a lateral edge and an off-platter detection assembly. The off-platter detection assembly has an assembly field-of-view (field-of-view) extending from the proximal edge and constrained to have an assembly central field-of-view axis substantially parallel to the lateral edge and at least one lateral boundary substantially adjacent to the lateral edge. A light emission assembly has a light source and emits a light away from the proximal edge. A light detection assembly has a light sensor and detects at least a portion of the light reflected towards the proximal edge. A controller allows the measured weight to be recorded in response to a first value from the light detection assembly and prevents the measured weight from being recorded and/or provides an alert in response to a second value from the light detection assembly.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO DETECT ITEMS LEFT IN MERCHANDISE CARRIERS
Methods and systems to detect items left in merchandise carriers are disclosed. A disclosed example system includes: an input device configured to receive an indication that a merchandise carrier is to be empty from at least one of a user or a device communicatively coupled to the input device; an overhead imaging device configured to capture an image of the merchandise carrier at a checkout station in response to the indication; an image processor configured to detect based on the image an obscuration of a portion of the merchandise carrier by the presence of an item in the merchandise carrier, and generate an alert signal when the portion of the merchandise carrier is obscured; and an output device configured to receive the alert signal and provide a notification of the presence of the item in the merchandise carrier.
NETWORKED THEFT PREVENTION AND MUTLI-USER SYNCHRONIZATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PERCUSSIVE MASSAGE DEVICE
A percussive massage device theft prevention system includes a percussive massage device, a command center configured to generate a unique activation code configured to be received by the percussive massage device, and an authentication device configured to be paired with the percussive massage device and provide the activation code to the percussive massage device. The percussive massage device is configured to be paired with the authentication device, receive the authentication code from the authentication device, and activate the percussive massage device for a specified time period.
FRAUD MONITORING DEVICE AND FRAUD MONITORING METHOD THEREFOR
According to an embodiment, a fraud monitoring device detects a possibility of a fraudulent act of a customer with respect to a payment terminal. The fraud monitoring device receives an instruction of verification completion for a possibility of a fraudulent act, the instruction being given by a salesclerk. Further, the fraud monitoring device prohibits payment processing of a payment terminal in which a possibility of a fraudulent act remains without receiving the instruction of verification completion.
Systems and methods for using location services to detect fraud
Systems, methods, and apparatuses using a memory device and one or more processors communicably coupled to the memory device. The one or more processors are structured to receive information relating to a mobile device of a user; receive information regarding fraudulent activity on an account; associate the information regarding fraudulent activity on the account with one or more pieces of information relating to the mobile device to associate the mobile device with fraudulent activity; detect the mobile device based on the information relating to the mobile device; responsive to detecting the mobile device, determine that fraudulent activity is associated with the mobile device; and in response, provide a notification to a component proximate to the mobile device to alert the component of fraudulent activity.
SYSTEM AND APPLICATION SERVER FOR SECURE GUEST CHECKOUT
A system for initiating secure guest checkout includes an application server; and an untrusted user interaction device that is in communication with the application server. The untrusted user interaction device has a unique device identifier that is registered with the application server. The untrusted user interaction device is configured to: receive input data relating to a selection of one or more items; transmit, to the application server, the selection of one or more items and the unique device identifier, for creation of a cart at the application server; communicate a pairing code received from the application server, the pairing code being associated with the cart; and wirelessly broadcast identifier data including, and/or derived from, the unique device identifier; such that a computing device that receives the identifier data and the pairing code can verify the unique device identifier and retrieve the cart from the application server for initiation of a secure remote commerce (SRC) checkout process at an SRC initiator.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING SCAN AND NON-SCAN EVENTS IN A SELF CHECK OUT PROCESS
A system for detecting scan and non-scan events in a self-check out (SCO) process includes a a scanner for scanning objects and generating point of sale (POS) data, a video camera for generating a video of the scanning region, proximity sensors proximal to the video camera for defining an Area of Action (AoA), wherein the video camera starts capturing scanning region, when the objects enter the AoA, and the POS data includes non-zero values, an Artificial neural network (ANN) for receiving an image frame and generating one or more values, each indicating a probability of classification of the image frame into one or more classes respectively, and a processing unit for processing the POS data, and probabilities of one or more classes to detect a correlation between video data and POS data, and detect one of: scan and non-scan event in the image frame based on the correlation.
