A smart doorbell system including a chime listener that is configured to detect operation of a chime of a doorbell system in response to activation of a doorbell of the doorbell system. In response to this detection, the system sends a notification signal to a user device such as a smart phone. The chime listener may be configured to send an activation signal to an imaging device, typically having a camera, in response to the detection of chime operation. The imaging device is activated in response to receiving the activation signal and transmits images and/or other media which can viewed on a user device such as a smart phone.

Disclosed are techniques to establish initial settings for an automatic insulin delivery device. An adjusted total daily insulin (TDI) factor usable to calculate a TDI dosage may be determined. The adjusted TDI factor may be a TDI per unit of a physical characteristic of the user (e.g., weight) times a reduction factor. The adjusted TDI factor may be compared to a maximum algorithm delivery threshold. Based on the comparison result, the application or algorithm may set a TDI dosage and output a control signal. Blood glucose measurement values may be collected from a sensor over a period of time. A level of glycated hemoglobin of the blood may be determined based on the obtained blood glucose measurement values. In response to the level of glycated hemoglobin, the set TDI dosage may be modified. A subsequent control signal including the modified TDI dosage may be output to actuate delivery of insulin.

A computer-implemented method of generating a thumbnail of a video stream or file of a surveillance area in a video management system, including setting, in the video management system, at least one sound event to be detected in at least one audio stream or file corresponding to the video stream or file; detecting, in the at least one audio stream or file, at least one point in time at which the at least one sound event occurs; generating the thumbnail based on at least part of at least one frame of the video stream or file, wherein the frame is selected based on the point in time; and displaying the thumbnail in the video management system.
