Presented herein are methods, systems, devices, and computer-readable media for recording and conveying information/data by a device. The device may record and store data associated with a catastrophic or emergency event. The device may transmit and convey data to facilitate locating the device after a catastrophic event. In some embodiments, a device may be configured to be ejected from a vehicle before or during a catastrophic event.

A system, device, and method for communicating distress signals through a plumbing control system is provided. The system includes a plumbing controller configured to operate at least one plumbing appliance, at least one distress indicator in communication with the plumbing controller, and at least one distress sensor in communication with the plumbing controller. Activation of the at least one distress sensor causes activation of the at least one distress indicator.

A lighting assembly is configured to create an emergency notification. The lighting assembly has a housing with a housing first surface and a housing second surface. A plurality of strobe lights is arranged into at least one row and at least four columns. A direct current power system is joined to the plurality of strobe lights and further comprising a printed circuit board electrically coupled to radio frequency relay switch, and a battery. A wireless remote is communicatively coupled to the radio frequency relay switch. Activating the wireless remote directs the printed circuit board to provide power to the plurality of strobe lights creating the emergency notification.

A visual distress signal device that generates and emits bright light and/or infrared light to alert bystanders during times of distress. The device may be particularly suited for use on boats. The device may comprise a heat sink assembly that includes a screw-on collar that is attached to a housing of the device, such that the screw-on collar dissipates heat generated by electromagnetic radiation emitting elements away from an interior of the housing. The device may be configured for activation by a mobile phone or other mobile device which may be connected to the device via wireless communication. Furthermore, the mobile device may comprise a software application that can be used to alert persons in a contact list regarding the user's location and emergency status.

A wearable visual communications unit for automatically presenting information visually to third parties, the visual communication unit including a visual display, a microprocessor, a memory unit, a location tracker module in communication with the microprocessor, and a command signal generating unit in communication with the visual display, where the location tracker module is configured to track location of the wearable visual communication unit and is configured to generate location based data, where the micro-processor is operable to receive the location based data and to execute code stored in the memory unit to select a required visual presentation, and where the command signal generating unit is configured to generate at least one command signal to control the visual display to present the required visual presentation.

Threat identification devices, systems, and methods are disclosed which identify and locate various threats and provide a variety of countermeasures to reduce the loss of life in an attack. In one implementation, a device is provided with a housing and a plurality of tubes coupled to and extending from the housing. Sensors are located within the tubes for sensing external conditions. A control unit is in electronic communication with the sensors. Upon detection of an external condition, the sensors transmit a signal to the control unit, which activates countermeasures, including rotating light sources to identify the location of the external condition as well as preferred escape routes. The control unit may also transmit signals to other devices in the environment, including video panels and speakers, to provide instructions.

The present invention relates to a maritime distress signal transmission device which transmits a distress signal to an arbitrary rescue station to rescue a person in distress by transmitting a distress signal of the person in distress at sea wearing a life jacket and precise location information based on the Global Positioning System (GPS) to the rescue station as audible sound, and the maritime distress signal transmission device includes a holder-cradle which is coupled to the life jacket of the person in distress by a clip and a main body which is coupled to the holder-cradle and transmits the rescue signal to an arbitrary receiver using a preset frequency band.

A wilderness survival apparatus is provided which serves as: (a) a container for potable drinking water; (b) a container for pasteurizing liquids; (c) a burning lens for firestarting; and (d) a rescue signaling device. The apparatus comprises a low-cost, lightweight, compactible and reusable system which can be easily integrated into, or replace, existing outdoor gear such as pillows or padding and whose manufacture is readily integratable with existing outdoor gear manufacturing.

An instant alert notifier and docking station for use in emergency situations. Several notifiers and docking station can be located through a building. In a use, the user presses a button and pulls the device cover, which causes the notifier to (1) snap a still image of the person removing the notifier, (2) trigger a “code red” alert and/or activate flashing red LEDS on the docking stations where they are located throughout the building and/or (3) switch from a front to a rear camera operation. Using the notifier, real time video, and still images can be captured and uploaded to first responder devices. The pressing of the button or removal of the notifier from the docking station can also cause the system to stream live video to the first responders from all of the other notifiers in the building still contained within their docking stations.

A beacon with a preferably anodized aluminum body, cylindrical in shape, and threaded employs a beacon modulation scheme for MWIR/LWIR beacons in which multiple frequencies of emission are overlaid, such as the addition of a high frequency pulse, several orders of magnitude faster than the low frequency blink, the high frequency modulation being beyond the capability of unaided human perception. This modulation would allow a high-speed detector and associated software to lock onto an asset in the presence of background radiation which would otherwise drown out the signal of interest.
