Backup cellular connectivity for essential services
Methods and devices for a user equipment (UE) device to utilize an electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) to provide backup cellular connectivity for essential services and security enhancements. A UE device receives user input to alter an operational state of the UE. The user input may include removing a physical subscriber identity module (SIM) card installed in the UE or attempting to power off the UE. In response to receiving the user input, an authorization process is initiated. In response to determining that the authorization process has failed, a security enhancement is implemented for the UE.

Smart-device communication in response to event
A smart device communication system and method are disclosed. The smart device communication system is based on an Internet of Things (IoT) device attached to or in vicinity to an object. In response to an occurrence related to the object, the IoT device sends an event signal that is received by one or more community-capable IoT devices that are geographically co-located with the object. The community-capable IoT device(s) respond by taking one or more actions in response to receiving the event signal. The IoT device and the community-capable IoT device(s) are not co-owned.
Anti-theft retail merchandise pusher with remote alarm feature
A retail merchandise pusher with a remote alarm feature is provided. The pusher includes a housing and an adaptor. The adaptor is removably coupled to the housing and slidably coupled to a track. The pusher including a shaft rotatable about its axis in a first and second direction and a gear wheel coupled to the shaft. The rotation of the gear wheel causing a first electrical contact to engage with a second electrical contact, such that the distance that the pusher moves along the track can be measured by totaling the number of times the first electrical contact engages with the second electrical contact.
INTEGRATED, PERSISTENT SECURITY MONITORING OF ELECTRONIC MERCHANDISE
An electronic device configured for retail display includes a persistent memory on which boot instructions are stored, a storage device on which security monitoring instructions are stored, and a processor configured to execute the boot instructions during a boot sequence to initiate execution of the security monitoring instructions. The processor is further configured, via the execution of the security monitoring instructions, to monitor the retail display of the electronic device for a security trigger event and, upon detection of the trigger event, lock a user interface of the electronic device.

System and method of intelligent node detecting events for border protection and security
A method, comprising detecting, by a wireless tracking system, a tampering event associated with an asset within an asset container; capturing, by the wireless tracking system, a first digital representation of the field of view including the asset container; determining, based on the wireless tracking system comparing the first representation to a second digital representation of the field of view including the asset container stored in memory, a difference between the first and second digital representations; and displaying, by the wireless tracking system, within a graphical user interface of a client device, the difference between the first and second digital representations, wherein displaying the difference comprises displaying an augmented reality overlay to emphasizes the difference.
Systems and methods for automatically responding to a fire
Methods and systems for generating a response to detecting a fire on a property are provided. In certain aspects, a smart home controller (or other smart controller) may analyze data received from smart devices disposed on, within, or proximate to a property. If it is determined that a fire is present on the premises of the property, the smart home controller may determine a location of the fire as compared to the smart devices. The smart home controller may then generate and transmit instructions causing a portion of the smart devices to perform a set of actions to mitigate risks associated with the presence of the fire on the property. The smart home controller may also compare the location of the fire with a location of an occupant, and generate an escape route for the occupant. Insurance policies, premiums, or discounts may be adjusted based upon the fire response/mitigation functionality.
