Lighting Including Integral Communication Apparatus
A light for use in a light fixture includes a light source adapted to produce light in an area including the light and a connector configured for connection to the fixture. The light further includes a communication apparatus configured to generate one or more signals indicative of a presence of a person in the area, and a controller that is operative to control the light source in a normal mode in response to the one or more signals.
PERSONAL SAFETY RECORDING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A personal safety recording system allows an individual to carry a concealed camera on themselves. The camera being concealed increases the likelihood of capturing any threatening or harmful behavior experienced or witnessed by the individual. The camera could be concealed in an owl or other shape and is intended to appear a normal clothing article. While the camera is recording a trigger or notification sequence alerts a friend or other third party that the camera is capturing an event that requires attention. The recording is sent through a transmitter or through another computing device such as a phone. The person's voice or buttons are examples of how the system could quickly and discreetly be activated to transmit the recording.
Security system and method of detecting contraband items
A security screening apparatus for use in detecting ferromagnetic objects comprises a detector apparatus which comprises a housing that supports at least one magnetic sensor arranged to produce a signal indicative of an ambient magnetic field or gradient over a zone of sensitivity which extends away from the housing, the size of the zone being large enough to contain the whole body of the person, and a signal processing circuit which receives as an input the signal from the magnetic sensor and which, in response to a change in the signal produces an alert signal. A beacon that comprises a light source is able to emit at least two visually distinct colours of light, and a control means controls the light source such that in a first condition in the absence of the alert signal the beacon emits a first colour light and in a second condition corresponding to the presence of the alert signal the beacon emits a second, different, colour of light. The light source is arranged such that the position and/or size and/or shape of the illuminated area of the light source in the first condition is different from the position and/or size and or shape of the illuminated area of the light source in the second condition.
OUTDOOR SECURITY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The disclosure includes a security system including an outdoor security device. In some embodiments, the outdoor security device comprises a housing, a light coupled to the housing and located within a hollow inner portion of the housing, and a camera and a lens coupled to the housing. In some embodiments, the security device comprises at least one directional microphone communicatively coupled to the camera and configured to determine a location of a detected sound whereby the camera performs a frame lock to capture an image associated with the detected sound.
Wearable Recording System With Memory Designation
A surveillance apparatus continuously records imaged data from a camera into a circular buffer in a local memory. When a record signal is received, the system records the video stream that was recorded before the record signal was received, and the video stream that is recorded after the record signal was received. The recorded segment is then write-protected, so that the surveillance apparatus does not overwrite the recorded segment. The recorded segment could then be sent to a remote memory via a wireless connection to free up local memory for future recording sessions.
Powering Up Cameras Based on Shared Video Footage from Audio/Video Recording and Communication Devices
Systems and methods for communicating in a network using share signals in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure are provided. In one embodiment, a method for communicating in a network may include receiving, from a first client device associated with an A/V recording and communication device, at a backend server in network communication with the A/V recording and communication device, a share signal comprising location data and first image data captured by a first camera of the A/V recording and communication device, the share signal including a command to share the first image data with a network of users; generating a power-up command signal based on the share signal; identifying at least one second camera to power up; and transmitting the power-up command signal to the at least one second camera, by the backend server, using a network interface.
TRANSACTION TERMINAL SILENT ALERT SYSTEMS
A transaction terminal silent alarm system having processor(s) and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor(s), cause the system to perform a method is disclosed. Upon receiving, from a user device, an authentication request to complete a transaction at a transaction terminal, the system may determine whether a fingerprint scan matches a stored fingerprint. Responsive to the fingerprint scan matching a stored normal fingerprint and absent receiving another fingerprint that matches a stored cancellation fingerprint, the system may direct the transaction terminal to complete the transaction. Responsive to the fingerprint scan matching a stored under-duress fingerprint, the system may direct the transaction terminal to send a silent alert to law enforcement and direct the transaction terminal to delay the transaction. Responsive to the fingerprint scan not matching any stored fingerprints, the system may direct the user device to display a fingerprint rescan message.
Lighting device incorporating a hyperspectral imager as a reconfigurable sensing element
Disclosed are examples of hyperspectral imager-equipped lighting devices that provide general illumination supplied by artificial or natural light, and that also detect environmental conditions in the environment around the lighting device. The hyperspectral imager detects light within a contiguous spectral band from the environment in the vicinity of the lighting device. In response, the hyperspectral imager generates image data representative of the spectral intensity of one or more subsets of a continuous spectrum of wavelengths of the detected light. A controller may analyze the image data generated by the hyperspectral imager and may initiate action to control operation of the light source or building management products based on an environmental condition detected by the analysis of the generated image data.
DOORBELL COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A method of operating a doorbell system can include receiving, by a remote computing device, a notification of an emergency event and in response to the receiving, illuminating at least one light of a doorbell to indicate an occurrence of the emergency event. The method can further include, in response to receiving the notification, initiating a communication with an emergency dispatcher and/or an emergency contact. The at least one light can illuminate in a variety of colors and illumination patterns corresponding to the type of emergency event.
