Detecting and Tracking of Threats in a Physical Space
Active shooters are becoming a common threat in public areas. Detection and analysis of a gunshot in a public area can aid administrative and first responder personnel in determining that a gun has been fired and in stopping the threat quickly. Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to solutions for detecting and analyzing gunshots and other threats, and transmitting that information to administrative personnel and first responders.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ACTIVE SHOOTER DETECTION AND EVACUATION GUIDANCE
A system and method for finding the proximate location of an indoor active shooter including: a plurality of acoustic sensors for receiving acoustic information from a monitored area, the sensors being dispersed in the monitored area, and each sensor having a processor for discriminating gunshot candidates from other sounds; and a host processor/server for receiving the gunshot candidates from the sensor and provide further processing to determine if the gunshot candidate is a gunshot. The server may use the first sensor to report as the proximate location of the shooter. As nearby sensors report the same incident, the server may refine the proximate location to within a few feet of the actual location of the shooter. The host processor includes a program or instructions to determine exit routes from the detected shooter and to activate a warning system which directs people away. The warning system includes a plurality of signaling lights capable of producing light in a plurality of selectable colors such that the host processor commands the lights to signal colors which warn people of the direction of the proximate location and other colors which direct people away from the proximate location.

System and Method for Acoustically Identifying Gunshots Fired Indoors
A system and method for acoustically detecting the firing of gunshots indoors employs multiple microphones (15, 20) which are utilized individually and in combination to detect sounds inside a building or other structure and, upon sensing a loud impulsive sound which is indicative of a gunshot, processing signals from both microphones (15, 20) to determine if the sound is that of a gunshot. The system and method relies on the acoustic signature of the noise as collected, with the acoustic signature being analyzed to arrive at values which are then compared to adjustable levels that signify a gunshot.

System and method to improve emergency response time
There is described a fire detection/notification system for detecting a weapons discharge comprising a network and a control panel. The network includes multiple wireless devices, and each device includes a fire-related sensor and a first weapons discharge sensor, and a second weapons sensor. The control panel is configured to identify the weapons discharge based on data generated by the first and second weapons discharge sensors and produce an alert signal in response to identifying the weapons discharge. The control panel is connected to the network and includes an output circuit configured to communicate with an emergency responder device external to the fire detection/notification system in response to receiving the alert signal.
