Portable wireless remote monitoring and control systems
09769420 · 2017-09-19 ·

A user-programmable portable wireless remote monitoring system includes a base unit, a series of sensor units and a remote control device. The base unit is connected to the internet, and receives wireless alerts from sensor arrays deployed in the sensor units. When the sensor units detect a problem, then they send an alert to the base unit, which then relays the alert to the remote control device that is preferably a smart phone, tablet, or the like, including software for operating the system. The system may also incorporate smart outlets that are remotely operable by the remote control device, various monitors, a touchscreen, and wearable tracking devices to monitor a person within the home. The system is designed to provide security, home system monitoring, personal medical monitoring, and remote control of various electrical appliances. The system may also be controlled by using oral commands.

Expandable security system

A computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a base station of a first security system, an identification of a portable security system. The method further includes adding, by the base station, the portable security system as a sensor to a plurality of sensors monitored by the first security system. The method further includes configuring, by the base station, the portable security system in protect-mode, wherein the portable security system sounds an alarm in response to a sensor from the second system indicating a security-breach. The method further includes in response to the alarm from the portable security system, generating, by the base station, an alarm event of the first security system.

CROSS-CLIENT SENSOR USER INTERFACE IN AN INTEGRATED SECURITY NETWORK

An integrated system includes a system user interface (SUI) that provides an iconic, at-a-glance representation of integrated security system status. The SUI is for use across all client devices including mobile or cellular telephones, a mobile portal, a web portal, and a touchscreen device. The SUI includes a number of display elements presented across all types of client devices for monitoring status of the integrated security system. The display elements of the SUI include an orb icon, text summary, security button, device warnings, system warnings, interesting sensors, and quiet sensors. The SUI thus provides system status summary information agnostically across all clients. Additionally, the SUI provides consistent iconography, terminology, and display rules across all clients as well as consistent sensor and system detail across clients.

MANAGEMENT OF A SECURITY SYSTEM AT A PREMISES

A security system is described for managing a premises. The security system comprises security system components and a first controller. A takeover component receives security data of the security system from the first controller. The security data is used to configure a second controller to communicate with the security system. The second controller communicates with the security system components and replaces the first controller in management of the security system.

Systems and methods for commissioning a security system

Systems and methods are provided that can include displaying a floor plan on a graphical user interface, receiving a first user input identifying a respective location of each of a plurality of zones of the secured area via the floor plan displayed on the graphical user interface, receiving a second user input identifying a respective evacuation route to an emergency exit from each the plurality of zones via the floor plan displayed on the graphical user interface, identifying a respective distance factor from each of the plurality of zones to the emergency exit via the respective evacuation route, identifying a respective relative distance from each of the plurality of zones to a selected one of the plurality of zones, and multiplying the respective distance factor by the respective relative distance for each of the plurality of zones to identify a respective alarm sequence factor.

Hardware configurable security, monitoring and automation controller having modular communication protocol interfaces

A single platform for controller functionality for each of security, monitoring and automation, as well as providing a capacity to function as a bidirectional Internet gateway, is provided. Embodiments of the present invention provide such functionality by virtue of a configurable architecture that enables a user to adapt the system for the user's specific needs. Embodiments of the present invention further provide such functionality by providing for installation of removable, modular communication adapters for communication with a variety of devices external to the security, monitoring and automation controller.

Implementations of the disclosed subject matter provide systems and methods of granting temporary control access of a home security system of a first user to a second user, where the temporary control access is for at least a portion of a home security system for a predetermined period of time. One or more tasks to be completed for the first user may be completed by the second user while having temporary control access to the home security system. The temporary control access of the second user to the at least a portion of the home security system of the first user may be revoked when the predetermined period of time has elapsed. The second user may receive a notification may be received for a security event, a safety event, a home event, and a package delivery event after the predetermined period of time has lapsed.

Doorbell communication systems and methods

The disclosure includes a doorbell system having a doorbell, a doorbell housing, a visitor detection system, and a chime. The visitor detection system can be coupled to the doorbell housing and can include at least one of a camera and a motion detector. The doorbell can also comprise a first low-energy transceiver and a first high-energy transceiver that can be coupled to the doorbell housing. The first and second low-energy transceivers and the first and second high-energy transceivers can be configured to transmit data.

A battery powered do-it-yourself (DIY) security and safety monitor that is removably mounted by a self-centering magnet mount onto a ferromagnetic wall plate. The monitor has numerous sensors that report anomalies to the owner's smart device or a pay-for-use monitoring service through cellular communication. There is a smart hub incorporated directly to the various sensors or to the sensors through the main system microprocessor to allow communication and control of the various sensors and modules (if applicable) via the owner's smart device. The monitor may be hard wired into the premises if required by code, or it may be battery powered by long lasting Lithium batteries.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROPERTY MONITORING
