SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HEALTH MONITORING AND PROVIDING EMERGENCY SUPPORT
20170358200 · 2017-12-14 ·

Systems and methods for providing a health monitoring and emergency response service are provided. Each element in a plurality of data elements is obtained from a health monitoring device connected to a corresponding subject in a plural of subjects. An alert is triggered through analysis of the data element or manually triggered by the subject or a subject's circle of support. A communication channel is opened between the subject and the members of the circle of support. The subject or one or more members of the circle of support of the subject verifies or rejects the alert. The alert is sent to a remote monitoring alarm center and emergency responders are dispatched.

System and method for remote property management
11682288 · 2023-06-20 · ·

A system for use in a residential property, the system including a first computing system positionable in the residential property and including a first memory and a first processor. The system also includes a second computing system including a second memory and a second processor, the second computing system in communication with the first computing system over a network. The first memory comprises program instructions executable by the processor of the first computing system to: recognize a sound indicative of an unexpected event; retrieve, from a database stored in the first memory, an acoustic profile of the unexpected event; and responsive to the identifying the unexpected event, transmit a notification including an identity of the acoustic profile of the unexpected event to the second computing system over the network.

ON-PREMISES COMMUNICATION BRIDGES FOR PREMISES SECURITY SYSTEMS
20230186753 · 2023-06-15 ·

A method implemented by an on-site secondary control device in communication with an on-site primary control device for a premises security system is provided. The on-site primary control device is configured to trigger an alarm event signal associated with the premises security system, and the on-site secondary control device is physically separated from the on-site primary control device. An alarm event signal is received at the on-site secondary control device from the on-site primary control device indicating that a premises device has been triggered. The alarm event signal is temporarily stored. In response to determining that a criterion associated with the premises system is met, the alarm event signal is transmitted by the on-site secondary control device to the remote monitoring center.

Alarm management system

The Alarm Management System allows hospitals and critical care units to manage alarms generated by patient monitors and includes the following components: The Alarm Dashboard provides a display of alarm history and trends categorized as desired by hospital administrators. The Alarm Criticality Discernment Tool assists in distinguishing between critical and non-critical alarms. This Tool can allow a clinician to accommodate patient-specific or doctor-specific rules, alarm thresholds, or exceptions. The Alarm Renderer Tool provides physiological data for a predetermined period before the alarm and upon receiving a patient alarm, allows the alarm and the physiological data displayed visually to be forwarded to a care provider to assist in the determination of the criticality of the alarm. The Alarm Router Tool is a set of rules and editor for routing and escalating unacknowledged alarms to other care providers and recording these events.

SAFETY STAIRS
20170337796 · 2017-11-23 ·

A stairway safety system and method including movement sensors and/or force sensors, a safety button, a central processing unit, a user notify device configured to generate audio or visual indications prompting the stairway user to engage the safety button, and a communication device configured to send a message requesting help. The central processing unit is configured to measure the length of time between detecting signals from the sensors and also to instruct the first user notify device to generate audio or visual indications when the measured time between detecting the signals is shorter or longer than a stairway user's actual or estimated typical travel time through the stairway. The central processing unit is configured to measure time and to instruct the communication device to send the message requesting help if a safety signal is not detected within a safety time period which indicates a request for help may be needed.

Enhanced emergency response

Disclosed is a back-end system for emergency response, and a corresponding front-end system. The back-end system handles network communication to and/or from multiple information sources for gathering emergency response information from the information sources, including at least video data related to an emergency and/or security situation and additional emergency response information. The back-end system extracts subsets of information from the emergency response information at least partly based on input originating from one or more users and/or operators. The back-end system is configured to perform processing of the emergency response information to enable formation of a common overview of the emergency and/or security situation valid for different users/operators, while also enabling the emergency response information and/or extracted subsets thereof to be processed, compiled and/or filtered, and/or presented to a specific user and/or operator in a way that is customized for the specific user and/or operator of the emergency response system.

PERSONAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATION
20170316676 · 2017-11-02 ·

An operation method is presented for personal emergency response systems (PERS) combining a mobile device, e.g., a smartphone, and a personal device that is easy to carry for the user, e.g., a bracelet or pendant with genuine text, phone and mobile internet capability, both whether or not sensors are wirelessly connected to these devices. A method may improve and automate PERS by consistently supervising the users in case of an emergency by using mainly mobile Internet communication means and devices with immediate display of first responders and a possibility to coordinate ambulance and other official emergency response means, thus omitting the need for geo-fencing, unless desired by the users. A method may facilitate the rescue of a person via PERS by displaying a line of two or more previous and potentially later GPS coordinates and may conserve energy while intermittently receiving GPS coordinates for rescue purposes.

NOTIFICATION OF EVENT SUBSEQUENT TO COMMUNICATION FAILURE WITH SECURITY SYSTEM

Methods and systems for monitoring a premises are described. A server external to the premises may be in communication with a system at the premises. The server may receive status data from the system from one or more interfaces. If a loss of communication occurs on one interface, then the status data may be received via a second interface. The server may determine timing information for status data received via the first interface and for status data received via the second interface. The server may send, based on the timing information, a message to a computing device indicating the loss of communication.

LOCKDOWN APPARATUS FOR INITIATION OF LOCKDOWN PROCEDURES AT A FACILITY DURING AN EMERGENCY
20220058926 · 2022-02-24 ·

Some embodiments are directed to a lockdown apparatus for facilitating initiation of lockdown procedures at a facility that includes multiple doors and is configured for occupation by facility occupants. A lockdown actuator is disposed at the facility and configured to initiate transmission of a lockdown initiation signal upon being actuated, the lockdown actuator being configured to be recognizably distinguishable from the fire alarm actuator. A lockdown communicator is configured to produce a lockdown initiation communication for communicating initiation of lockdown procedures to the facility occupants and individuals not disposed proximate the facility upon transmission of the lockdown initiation signal, the lockdown initiation communication being recognizably distinguishable from the fire alarm communication. A display is configured to indicate status of each of the multiple doors of the facility upon transmission of the lockdown initiation signal, the status including at least one of open versus closed, and locked versus unlocked.

System and method for detecting and analyzing near range weapon fire

A method for identifying a gunshot occurrence. According to one embodiment, microphone data and inertial motion data are acquired with a hand-held device. Based on an acoustic criterion, a determination is made as to whether a gunshot has been produced. Based on a correlation criterion applied to the inertial motion data, a determination is made as to whether the gunshot was produced from fire produced by a first person having physical possession of the hand-held device or by a second person spaced away from the first person.
