Sympathetic Personal Locator Beacon Relay System
A sympathetic emergency beacon system including a receiver for emergency beacon transmissions and a transmitter to relay transmissions. Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs), Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs), and Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELTs) are used in emergency scenarios to provide location information regarding downed personnel, vessels, or aircraft. These signals notify search and rescue operations of the location of the distress signal. The sympathetic beacon system computes precise position information regarding the received signal and transmits this computed position information to search and rescue operators for more quickly locating the emergency situation. By automatically relaying the distress signal through a plurality of passive receivers, the present invention strengthens the reliability of emergency locating systems.
Remote Monitoring System
A remote monitoring system is provided including a sensor, for sensing data associated with a remotely monitored object; a transmitter coupled to the sensor, and for transmitting data of the sensor via satellite; and a notification system coupled to the transmitter, for receiving the sensor data and providing notifications to a user based upon the received sensor data.
Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for implementing situational control processes
A method, apparatus, and computer program product for implementing situational control processes is provided. The method includes transmitting a signal to a target device and determining whether a response signal has been received from the target device. The response signal indicates one of a presence status of the target device and an event condition. The method also includes performing a first action if no response signal is received. The first action includes generating an alert and/or determining a presence of an alternative target device.
Alarm module having multiple wireless remote alarm devices and remote alarm method
A remote alarm method, including the following steps: during a predetermined time, at least one of the wireless remote alarm devices sends a push signal including the corresponding representative data; the processor analyzes the output, and suppose the corresponding representative data is not included, then the corresponding representative data will be added therein and the wireless push transmitter will be driven to continuously send the updated push signal including the added corresponding representative data; when the main alarm device receives the updated push signal, the processor thereof compares it with all of the corresponding representative data in the closed group to check the inclusion of each corresponding representative data in the closed group; and in case of lacking any corresponding representative data, the alarm indicator can be driven to send an alarm signal.
SYSTEM FOR COMMUNICATING EVENT AND LOCATION INFORMATION
The present invention provides a system, method and apparatus for initiating and handling an emergency IP request using an IP enabled device having GPS capability. The IP enabled device is monitored for one or more emergency criteria. If the emergency criteria are satisfied, global positioning data is obtained using the GPS capability and the emergency IP request is sent to an address server. The address server receives the emergency IP request, obtains local emergency services data based on the global positioning data, dials a call center station based on the local emergency services data and passes an emergency call from the IP enabled device to the call center station. This invention can be implemented as a computer program embedded in a computer readable medium wherein the steps are performed by one or more code segments.
Methods and systems for assigning locations to devices
A location identification system analyzes information received corresponding to a device detected in a room of a patient. On detecting a location identification of the device, the system assigns the device to the location corresponding to the location identification. In embodiments, the system retrieves patient and care team information for the location. The location and patient and care team information may be communicated to a central video monitoring system.
System for providing location alerts relating to emergencies
Disclosed is a system for generating alerts communicated to emergency responders and/or contacts indicating a location of an incident. The system comprises a housing, one or more light sources, and a computing processor. A switch is located in the housing and configured to be accessible to a user. When the switch is actuated by a user indicating an incident, the processor provides power to the at least one light source to output light from the housing thereby indicating the location of the system. The system may also control a speaker to output an audible signal and a transmitter to transmit an emergency signal with location information to a device of an emergency responder and/or an emergency contact. The present invention may also be embodied in a software application that is implemented on a mobile device to thereby leverage the components of the mobile device to send alerts.
Enhanced emergency response
Disclosed is a back-end system for emergency response, and a corresponding front-end system. The back-end system handles network communication to and/or from multiple information sources for gathering emergency response information from the information sources, including at least video data related to an emergency and/or security situation and additional emergency response information. The back-end system extracts subsets of information from the emergency response information at least partly based on input originating from one or more users and/or operators. The back-end system is configured to perform processing of the emergency response information to enable formation of a common overview of the emergency and/or security situation valid for different users/operators, while also enabling the emergency response information and/or extracted subsets thereof to be processed, compiled and/or filtered, and/or presented to a specific user and/or operator in a way that is customized for the specific user and/or operator of the emergency response system.
Smart card with sensors for detecting environmental conditions
In some embodiments, a smart card may include a substrate with a first side and a second side. A first protective layer covers the first side and a second protective layer covers the second side of the substrate. Circuitry held in the substrate includes electronic interconnects for interconnecting circuitry elements. The circuitry elements include a processor, power circuitry for powering the circuitry elements, and an environmental detection sensor for respectively detecting a predetermined environmental parameter. The processor is configured to receive an output from the environmental detection sensor, to determine from the output that the environmental detection sensor detected an environmental alert trigger condition, and to generate an alert that is representative of the environmental alert trigger condition. The protective layers include pores in a region proximate to the environmental detection sensor for exposing the environmental detection sensor to an environment around the smart card.
ABERRATION ENGINE
An aberration engine that collects data sensed by a monitoring system that monitors a property of a user and aggregates the collected data over a period of a time. The aberration engine detects, within the aggregated data, patterns of recurring events and, based on detecting the patterns of recurring events within the aggregated data, takes action related to the monitoring system based on the detected patterns of recurring events within the aggregated data.
