ALARM SYSTEM WITH FIRST RESPONDER CODE FOR BUILDING ACCESS
20220148413 · 2022-05-12 · ·

A building alarm system and automated door lock arranged to place the alarm system in an armed state when a door lock fails to engage to lock an associated door in a closed position. Activation of a single button by a user or use of specific code by a user to gain access to a building can cause the alarm system to automatically rearm and for door locks at the building to be locked after entry by the user. A first responder code can be used by first responder personnel to gain access to a building after an alarm system indicates an alarm state, e.g., that corresponds to an emergency condition.

COVERT PERSONAL SAFETY DEVICE AND SYSTEM
20220148414 · 2022-05-12 ·

In one implementation, there is a personal safety device and system that permits for an inconspicuously worn device to be discreetly triggered to alert a third party of a threat to the wearer's personal safety. In at least one implementation, the personal safety device takes the form of a piece of jewelry (e.g. bracelet, necklace, etc.) that sends a wireless signal to a host device once a portion of the piece of jewelry is separated from the rest of the jewelry component. The alert may be forwarded to emergency services thereby allowing them to respond to the wearer's location.

MOBILE PERSONAL-SAFETY APPARATUS
20220139204 · 2022-05-05 ·

A wearable apparatus for personal safety has a scene monitor for sensing an ambient environment, and a main controller for processing the scene data. An emergency condition adverse to a user is detected by processing captured images of the ambient environment to determine whether a violent movement signifying the user facing an attack or accident has occurred. Motion data measured by a motion sensor in the apparatus can be used, alone or with captured images, to assist this determination. Upon detection of the emergency condition, the apparatus automatically sends scene data most-recently obtained before the emergency condition occurs to a remote server for securely storing these scene data for future uses even if the apparatus is subsequently damaged by, e. g., an attacker. The sending of scene data is automatic without a need for the user to initiate. Microphone, hazardous-gas sensor, etc. may also be used in sensing the ambient environment.

VOICE ACTIVATION OF AN ALARM VIA A COMMUNICATION NETWORK
20220130224 · 2022-04-28 ·

A method for activating an alarm is described. The method is performed by an alarm device connected to a communication network and arranged in the vicinity of a user. The method includes receiving voice data generated by the user, comparing the received voice data with voice data recorded in the alarm device, and, when the received voice data matches recorded voice data, transmitting to a server, via the communication network, textual information known to the server, in order to request assistance for the user, the textual information being non-representative of the voice data generated by the user.

High Security Two-Way Virtual Cross-Barrier Observation and Communication Device
20220132073 · 2022-04-28 ·

A high security two-way virtual cross-barrier observation and communication device has a mounting frame with a hardened core, a pair of digital displays, and a pair of cameras. The mounting frame may correspond to a typical interior door of a building or a relevant component of a vehicle, aircraft, or other relevant application. The hardened core is bullet-resistant and fire-resistant to protect occupants of a protected space from harm. The digital displays and cameras are positioned on opposing sides of the mounting frame, each camera transmitting a live video feed to the opposing display, creating the appearance of a window while protecting occupants. The digital displays may be used to display any desired information. An emergency protocol may be activated to communicate with emergency services. A plurality of laminate layers bond and encapsulate the displays and cameras to the hardened core, forming a rugged, self-contained unit with no moving parts.
