Apparatus and Methods for Distributing and Displaying Communications
Methods and systems are disclosed for event management, allowing authorized users or authorities to distribute and display communications on digital displays. In one aspect, an event management communications system receives event data sent from a detection system comprised of a network of sensors. The event management communications system processes the event data to determine an event perimeter, and then selects one or more digital displays based upon the event data or the determined event perimeter. Next, the event management communications system authors one or more contextual communications corresponding to the one or more digital displays and sends said one or more authored communications to said one or more digital displays, thereby allowing the one or more digital displays to display the corresponding one or more communications to a relevant, identified audience.
User-Configurable Weather Warning Apparatus
User-configurable weather warning apparatuses, and methods for providing and configuring user-configurable weather warning apparatuses are presented. For example, according to one aspect, an apparatus comprising a processor and a Radio Frequency (RF) receiver configured to receive a first Special Area Message Encoding (SAME) message may be provided. The processor may be configured to, responsive to a user preference to trigger an alert system only in the event of a tornado warning: determine whether the first SAME message indicates a tornado warning; and in response to determining that the first SAME message indicates a tornado warning, trigger the alert system.
Systems and methods for providing event notifications
Methods and apparatus for providing indications of received emergency alert messages to devices within a consumer premises are disclosed. In one embodiment, a consumer premise equipment (CPE) receiving one or more emergency alert messages from a content provider or managed network determines one or more alert responses for one or more devices of the consumer premise network. In one implementation, the responses are based at least in part on the received emergency alert messages themselves. The CPE issues one or more commands to one or more devices present within the consumer premises (which may be for example a home automation system), to indicate the one or more determined alert indication responses, such as auditory alert and visual alert by the one or more devices. Thus, users in the consumer premises may be made aware of an alert message outside of the typical means in which an alert is displayed, such as via a television.
Transmitter, transmission method, receiver, reception method, and computer program
Transmission of emergency alert information using a broadcasting service in an appropriate manner is achieved. A transmitter 200 (broadcasting station) inserts a wake-up signal as signaling of emergency alert information, describes information including a scale (category), type, occurrence time, and occurrence position of disaster, and version information as a message of emergency alert information, and transmits the message using a packet structure of a physical layer. A simple and inexpensive receiver 300 equipped with only a receiving antenna for broadcasting and a demodulator can receive the message of emergency alert information. An evacuation direction and a map or route to a shelter can be displayed using digital signage or streetlights, and an evacuation route can be instructed using streetlights.
Wearable device for safety monitoring of a user
A precise, gesture-based, safety monitoring system, method and device. The present invention comprises a controller, wherein the controller upon detection of a distress signal, sends an alert signal along with the Location information of the user to a Remote Server. The Remote Server, upon receiving an alert signal sends an SMS and e-mail along with the Location information to a Mobile device of the registered emergency numbers of the user and responds in real-time.
Emergency alert message detection on electronic device based on audio-video information
An electronic device and method for emergency alert message detection based on audio-video information is disclosed. The electronic device receives first media content received over a first broadcast channel. The electronic device renders second media content, which is different from the first media content. The electronic device further detects, from the received first media content, a set of objects associated with a geo-location corresponding to the electronic device. The set of objects corresponds to an emergency at the geo-location. The electronic device further detects an emergency alert audio in the received first media content. The electronic device further extracts an emergency alert message received over a second broadcast channel associated with the geo-location based on the detected set of objects and the emergency alert audio in the received first media content. The electronic device further renders an emergency alert signal associated with the emergency alert message.
Emergency Message Alert System
An Emergency Message Alert System is disclosed. The Emergency Message Alert System may be attached to a television that is placed in a public place such as in an airport. The Emergency Message Alert System monitors television broadcasts and other sources for emergencies that may affect the local area. When the Emergency Message Alert System detects an emergency that affects the nearby area, the system becomes activated and will alert people that an emergency is occurring by displaying a message or flashing LEDs on a front display. When activated, this system will direct the people to watch the information being presented on the accompanying television monitor.
Modular wireless mass evacuation notification system
Monitoring and mass notification systems, such as fire alarm systems, for use in occupied structures, and more particularly to wireless monitoring and mass notification systems include wireless base units that can be modular in design. This allows horns, mini horns, strobes, and audio messaging modules (e.g., speakers) to be physically plugged into the wireless base unit creating a unit with the appearance of a single physical unit. Preferably standardized plugs are used. In some cases, visual and audio modules (i.e., notification devices) have their own battery pack or external power interface. Each wireless base unit can optionally function as a repeater if it has dual transceivers (master transceiver and slave transceiver).
REMOTE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
In one embodiment, an underground communication system is described. The system includes a low to medium frequency transmitter and a plurality of receivers. The transmitter comprises an output coupler and a signal selection unit. The transmitter is operable to generate a low to medium frequency signal. Each of the plurality of receivers includes an antenna and at least one sensory output unit. The plurality of receivers is configured to detect a low to medium frequency signal.
