Alarm signaling technology

Techniques are described for handling an event where a control panel or an alarm signaling device is tampered with or destroyed by a disablement tactic, e.g., a “crash and smash intrusion.”

Remote-control security monitoring system and meihod

A remote-control security monitoring system, including an access permissions receiver operable for receiving, from a first entity having first access permissions to the premises automation system, second access permissions to the premises automation system, a premises monitoring selector operable for receiving, from the first entity, a selection of a second entity which provides remote monitoring services, a premises monitoring remote-control provider operable, responsive to the selection of the second entity, for subscribing the first entity to receive remote monitoring services of the premises from the second entity, and a premises monitoring activator operable, responsive to subscribing the first entity to receive the remote monitoring services from the second entity and responsive to receiving an instruction from the first entity, for instructing the second entity to monitor the premises on behalf of the first entity.

Alarm system technology, in which an alarm event is detected at a property monitored by an alarm system when the alarm system was set in an armed state. Based on detection of the alarm event, an alarm probability score that indicates a likelihood of the alarm event being an emergency situation is determined and the alarm event is handled based on the determined alarm probability score.

Security, monitoring and automation controller access and use of legacy security control panel information

A system, method and apparatus for controller functionality for each of security, monitoring and automation, as well as a bidirectional Internet gateway, is provided. Such functionality is provided by virtue of a configurable architecture that enables a user to adapt the system for the user's specific needs. In addition, functionality for gathering configuration information from a previously-installed security system and using that information in a subsequent takeover of that security system is provided.

Embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for gas detection. A method may comprise operating a gas detector with a first alarm setting comprising a first predefined threshold; receiving sensed data of oxygen content in the ambient air; when the sensed data is below the first predefined threshold, activating an alarm; generating an acknowledgement request asking if the gas detector has entered an inert work zone; receiving a response from the user acknowledging that the gas detector has entered an inert work zone; deactivating the alarm; changing the alarm settings of the gas detector to a second alarm setting comprising a second predefined threshold; continuing to receive sensed data of oxygen content in the ambient air; when the sensed data is above the second predefined threshold, activating an alarm; and generating an acknowledgement request for the user asking if the gas detector has entered a normal operation work zone.
