20220413518 · 2022-12-29 ·

Proposed is a technology capable of performing an action for examining a object difficult to be recognized, to thereby avoid the collision between the obstacle and the movable object. A movable object of the present technology includes a control unit. The control unit controls an action of a movable object on the basis of an estimation result of estimating whether or not an obstacle that prevents movement of the movable object exists on the basis of an image captured by an imaging unit.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF PROVIDING A TRAJECTORY PLANNING ENGINE FOR UNMANNED AIRCRAFT
20220415187 · 2022-12-29 ·

Systems and methods for trajectory planning for an unmanned aerial vehicle. A mission specification for fulfillment by an unmanned aerial vehicle is received. The mission specification identifies a waypoint, an optimization criterion, and information identifying the unmanned aerial vehicle. It is determined whether candidate flight trajectories are available. Maneuvers from a motions library that defines available maneuvers are modeled to identify candidate flight trajectories to the waypoint which satisfy a restriction condition and do not conflict with a flight plan for another aerial vehicle. If candidate flight trajectories are available, desired flight trajectories are selected. A mission approval is submitted to a receiving party.

MANAGEMENT OF THE SPATIAL CONGESTION AROUND THE PATH OF A VEHICLE
20220406205 · 2022-12-22 ·

Devices and methods implemented by a computer for connecting between a human-machine interface (e.g. graphical), supplied with data, in particular traffic and meteorology data, and a system for computing paths (e.g. avionic flight management), for interactive exploration of usable flight paths for managing the spatial congestion around the path of a vehicle are provided. Developments describe the particular case of an aircraft, such as mission management, the gathering of spatial, temporal or technical constraints relating to the spatial congestion within the determined potential airspace, the monitoring of changes in the spatial congestion of the airspace, excursions of the aircraft, miscellaneous displays, and n particular superimposed displays. Various types of human-machine interfaces are described, involving virtual or augmented reality and being configured to display data in 2D, 3D and/or 4D.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ALERTING A VISUAL DECENT POINT (VDP)

Methods and system for alerting a Visual Decent Point (VDP) in an aircraft system. The methods and systems retrieve runway altitude data and Minimum Descent Altitude (MDA) data from an avionics database for a target runway. Data in the avionics database for the target runway does not include a published VDP. The method includes calculating the VDP based on a difference between the runway altitude data and the MDA so as to achieve a target downward acceptable glidepath angle during final descent from the MDA to the target runway. The method includes outputting an alert of the VDP by an output device of the aircraft system.

Method of generating a collision free path of travel and computing system

According to various aspects, a method of generating a collision free path of travel may include defining a global search area encompassing at least a global start position and a global target position; and determining a set of collision free trajectories by iteration, the set of collision free trajectories connecting the global start position to the global target position via one or more local target positions, each iteration including: determining a local search area within the global search area; determining, from the global obstacle map, a local obstacle map associated with the local search area; defining a local start position and one or more local target positions within the local search area; and calculating, in the local search area, a collision free trajectory from the local start position to the one or more local target positions considering the local obstacle map.

Method and system for policy-based traffic encounter assessment to detect and avoid traffic

A method for policy-based traffic encounter assessment to detect and avoid traffic includes determining, by a processor, an ownship predicted trajectory of an aircraft. The aircraft is the ownship. The method also includes determining a traffic predicted trajectory of one or more other aircraft in the vicinity of the ownship. The one or more other aircraft includes traffic. The method also includes assessing an encounter between the ownship and the traffic, wherein assessing the encounter between the ownship and the traffic includes applying an encounter assessment policy to the traffic predicted trajectory and the ownship predicted trajectory. The method further includes generating encounter assessment data in response to assessing the encounter between the ownship and the traffic. The encounter assessment data is used to at least detect and avoid the traffic by the ownship.

Safety system, automated driving system, and methods thereof

In some aspects, a safety system may be configured to receive vehicle position data indicating a position of a vehicle, determine a first lane segment in a lane coordinate system based on the vehicle position data, the first lane segment being a lane segment in which the vehicle is located, determine a relevant set of lane segments based on a safety-range from the first lane segment, determine or receive obstacle position data indicating a second lane segment in the lane coordinate system, the second lane segment being a lane segment in which an obstacle is located, and classify the obstacle either as a non-relevant obstacle in the case that the second lane segment is not included in the relevant set of lane segments, or as a relevant obstacle in the case that the second lane segment is included in the relevant set of lane segments.
