The present invention relates to an insulated shopping bag device wherein the exterior surface of the body may be comprised of at least one attachment fastener that allows the body of one device to attach to the body of a second device. As a result, the devices are secured to each other and cannot easily move or topple while in the trunk of a vehicle. The body may also be a plurality of colors and may have a plurality of indicia to indicate what items should be stored in the bag (i.e., fresh items, dry items, cold items, etc.). In addition, one embodiment of the device for cold items can be comprised of an insulated lining and lid to keep cold items at a stable temperature.

The garment also has a back panel accessible from inside of the garment for carrying articles such as socks, underwear, shirts and trousers, with special compartments for such clothes. Zippers and hook and loop fasteners are used as closures for some of the pockets. A method for folding the garment and converting it into a conventional carry-on bag is also disclosed.
