Family networks
Described embodiments enable identification of family networks using combinations of DNA analysis and genealogical information. Genealogical data is provided by users of a genealogical research service or collected from other sources and used to create family trees for each user. DNA samples are also received from the users. By analyzing the DNA samples, potential genetic relationships can be identified between some users. Once these DNA-suggested relationships have been identified, common ancestors can be sought in the respective trees of the potentially related users. Where these common ancestors exist, an inference is drawn that the DNA-suggested relationship accurately represents a familial overlap between the individuals in question. People descended from the same common ancestor are each members of a family network. Members of a family network not in a user's tree may be identified for the user, enabling the user to discover additional ancestors that might otherwise have remained unknown.
ARTWORK VOICE MESSAGE SYSTEM
An apparatus for delivering an audio message can include a housing mountable to a frame, a triggering mechanism incorporated into the housing, a speaker in communication with the triggering mechanism, a processor incorporated into the housing, memory in communication with the processor and containing programmed instructions to cause the processor to play an audio message stored in the memory through the speakers in response to a signal from the triggering mechanism.
Game and method of playing a game
A game and a method of playing the game are disclosed. The game comprises a board having a domain region and a plurality of theme regions. Each theme region is associated with a theme. The game also provides each player with a plurality of game pieces, and each game piece of the plurality of game pieces is associated with an identifier. Each information bearing member of a plurality of information bearing members is associated with a theme and an identifier. Placing one game piece of the plurality of game pieces in one of the theme regions causes one of the plurality of information bearing members to be selected in accordance with the identifier associated with the placed game pieces and the theme associated with theme region in which such game piece was placed. Information specified by the selected information bearing member is presented to all of the players.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COMPUTERIZED INTERACTIVE SKILL TRAINING
The present invention is directed to interactive training, and in particular, to methods and systems for computerized interactive skill training. An example embodiment provides a method and system for providing skill training using a computerized system. The computerized system receives a selection of a first training subject. Several related training components can be invoked, such as reading, watching, performing, and/or reviewing components. In addition, a scored challenge session is provided, wherein a training challenge is provided to a user via a terminal, optionally in video form.
METHOD FOR COLLECTING A VIRTUAL OBJECT AND PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR IMPLEMENTING THE SAME
A method for collecting a virtual object includes: displaying a virtual element associated with a specific virtual object; adding the virtual element into a collected-element list upon receiving a collecting instruction to collect the virtual element; upon receiving an answer request corresponding to a target element in the collected-element list that is associated with a target virtual object, displaying different options each corresponding to a distinct virtual object; upon receiving a user answer of a selected option, determining whether the selected option is one of the options that is associated with the target virtual object; and when the determination is affirmative, adding the target virtual object into a collected-object list.

INFORMATION DISPLAY APPARATUS, INFORMATION DISPLAY TERMINAL, METHOD OF CONTROLLING INFORMATION DISPLAY APPARATUS, METHOD OF CONTROLLING INFORMATION DISPLAY TERMINAL, AND COMPUTER READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
According to one embodiment, there is provided an information display apparatus including a processor, the processor being configured to: designate a character string in a text displayed in a display unit in accordance with a user operation; determine whether a keyword is included in a part of the designated character string; generate, if it is determined that the keyword is included in the part of the designated character string, problem setting data based on the keyword included in the designated character string; and transmit the problem setting data to an external terminal.
Memorial Arrangement
A memorial apparatus for perpetuating the memory of deceased armed forces personnel is disclosed and takes the form of a first area of land adjacent a road, and at least one amenities structure on the first area and accessible by vehicles from the road. Also provided are a multiplicity of small second land areas each of which is allocated to a nominated one of the deceased armed forces personnel, and each of which carries a marker either visible to an observer or detectable by a portable electronic device with GPS capability. The second land areas are located adjacent at least one side of the public road and form a road side steering or guiding arrangement to shepherd or urge persons towards the amenities structure. The amenities structure includes a publically accessible database containing data relating to (generally deceased) arms forces personnel.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONDUCTING MULTI-LAYER USER SELECTABLE ELECTRONIC TESTING
A multi-layer user-selectable electronic testing (MUSET) system provides a cascaded set of alternative testing formats for test-takers to select a testing format that best accommodates their level of ability. Test-takers can answer fill-in-the-blank (FITB) items on a computer or other input device. If the test-taker is less confident of their understanding, they can select multiple-choice (MC) or true/false (T/F) testing formats. The MUSET system measures, tracks, and stores the amount of time it takes to answer test items, to switch testing formats, and to change answers. Test-takers indicate a confidence level that they have in the correctness of their answer. The MUSET system determines confidence characteristics, latency characteristics, and hesitancy characteristics of the test-taker and gathers additional parameters to build a performance profile of the test-taker's skills/traits/abilities. The performance profile is analyzed to guide and inform evaluators regarding individual performance, trends over time, differences between test-taker subsets, and analyses of test items.
